We have used Bethany twice, and would absolutely recommend her to anyone. She is very professional and easy to work with on scheduling, and she sends the best pictures all during your trip :). We know our girl is in good hands in this dog loving household.

Bethany is a great sitter. Nala loves staying with her and playing with her dog, Star. Bethany is a great communicator and posts several photos throughout the stay. Great experience all around.

Come be a part of our furry family!

Hi, we are Beth and Andrew and we are animal-lovers in general and a dog-lovers specifically. We have been sitting professionally since 2012. We also have experience as foster parents for a shelter dog. We promise to give your dog lots of individual attention!
We are comfortable with administering medication or dogs that have special needs, including experience with blind/deaf animals and dogs with paralysis. We'd be happy to complete whatever daily activities your ...

What Bethany would like to know about your dog

We have cats in the home as well as our own dog, so if your dog is not okay with felines or other dogs we would need to know about that and would probably not be able to take your dog. Other than that, just let us know likes, dislikes, fears, etc. If your dog has particular fears or separation anxiety, any tips for how to make your pooch feel calm and secure would be great so we can make sure his or her stay is as comfortable and stress-free as possible. If you could let us know what kind of routine your dog is used to that would be very helpful so we can make sure your doggy's day is as familiar as possible. We want both you and your dog to feel safe and comfortable with us!

When your dog stays with Bethany

Here's where we'll take our walks
We live very close to FDR park, so maybe we can walk around there. There is also a dog park at 12th and Wharton which is close as well where we could go for some great fun, and there are usually other dogs at Girard Park which is only a few blocks away as well, and we enjoy taking the short ride over to Schuykill River dog park for a fun day.

Your dog's sleeping arrangement
Your dog may sleep wherever he/she is comfortable. If your dog has a bed that you'd like to send along, please do! Star likes to sleep down in the living room (she has a couch that is "hers") and all our furniture is pet-friendly. We usually don't have doggies in our bed (not even our own) because it gets rather crowded, but your doggy is welcome to sleep in our bedroom if you like.

Time I'll spend with your dog
Both of us work full time (Beth is a social worker and Andrew works in IT for a children's hospital) and there is usually no one home between 9am and about 4pm. Because we aren't home during the day, your dog would be able to need to wait until we're home to go potty, so we cannot take un-housebroken dogs at this time. We are off on weekends and holidays. We wouldn't mind your dog being here alone during the day as long as you wouldn't. We allow our dog to roam freely in the house while we're not home, and would welcome your dog to do the same as long as he/she doesn't have issues with potty accidents or destructive behavior. If your dog needs to be confined to a smaller space (such as a crate or a single room) just let us know and we can accommodate that without a problem.

Time we'll spend with your dog
We both work full time M-F. We are off weekends and most holidays. Our schedules are slightly different though, so your dog would only be alone for about 6 hours a day. If it is a day we are working, we can spend time with your dog both before and then after we get home. We like nothing better than ending a hard day with playtime and cuddling with an adorable pooch! Days we're off we can spend all day together! We can go out for a long walk, to the dog park, anywhere your dog likes to go!
