This was not an experience I would like to relive and because of it, I will never be using Rover again. The only positive thing was this sitter accepted the job quickly, outside of that this situation gave me and my cat horrible anxiety. If you like communication, being updated, having pictures and reassurance that your pet is okay, then Beth may not be a good fit for you. It took me FOREVER to get a hold of her or to get responses from her, when I asked for pictures she had an excuse that her phone camera wasn’t working (but it’s 2021, even the most basic phone has a front AND back camera) and when I questioned her about both cameras being broken she didn’t respond. She didn’t respond much as a matter of fact and come day 2 I found myself frantically looking for other care for my cat. When I informed her I would be picking my cat up, she seemed upset. She agreed upon a time and then didn’t show up until 2 hours later while I was left again worried sick. She claimed her husband was supposed to inform me that she was running late because she was running errands but that made no sense (why wouldn’t you inform me, or why would you agree to the time)..I finally got my baby back but she looked like she had been stressed beyond belief…she was profusely shedding and yowling, I gave her water and it was like she hadn’t drank anything in days. She was NOT the same cat and I feel horrible for leaving her in Beth’s care. To top it all off, Beth then CHANGED her rate from 23 dollars to 28 dollars AFTER I cancelled with her siting “this is the holiday rate”…what?! And a 98 dollar cancellation fee. Do you think Rover customer support was any help? Those people told me to contact her about it, but I honestly want nothing to do with this lady so why would I go back and forth with her when she knows she is wrong. I have no issue paying her for the time my cat was with her at the original price we agreed upon but this extra crap is ridiculous! I hope she enjoys the extra 120 bucks she scammed out of me. My cat will hopefully recover from this…I am new to Aiken and I surely hope this was just an isolated incident. Lesson learned the hard way.
