Pet care experience
I've been using Rover since August 2022, and prior to that, I had twenty years of experience caring for my own pets (cats and dogs) and as a pet-sitter for family, friends, and neighbors. I also used to foster dogs for the organization Labs 4 Rescue based in Connecticut. I have experience with both young and senior pets. I'm pet first aid certified through the American Red Cross! I understand that all homes and pet owners are unique. When you're away from home, I can be trusted to follow all the rules you have in place regarding your home and pets. I will likely ask a lot of questions about where your pet likes to sleep or hangout, if they're allowed on furniture, etc. I'd rather have way too much information than not enough!

Beth took great care of our two large dogs and cat. Beth took the dogs on a number of walks while we were gone. They were sound asleep when we got home mid-day demonstrating they had plenty of exercise. We look forward to having Beth take care of our critters on our next trip.
Beth took such great care of our kitties while we were away! It was our first time leaving them for this stretch of time and she made us feel at ease when we met and through her updates. She is a great communicator and we loved the photos she shared. We came home to happy cats!
Beth was wonderful. She kept me updated all weekend and my fur babies were healthy and happy when I returned. She even stripped the bed she slept in and put the linens in the washer! I would recommend her highly!!

Some clients like me to take their dogs on car rides so we can go on a walk in the woods, etc. My car is older, but I'm an exceptionally safe driver and can use any safety harnesses or seats you use for your pup.
Information Beth W. would like to know about your pet
While I am strong and can restrain the vast majority of dogs if necessary, I won't walk a dog that I believe could pull me or rip the leash from my hands. It's too dangerous for both the dog and me. While I am experienced and a quick learner, I am not a dog trainer. I am more than happy to reinforce the behaviors you've taught, use the commands you prefer, and help dogs who are still mastering walking on a leash.
A typical day
What's typical? Every pet has different needs, and every client has different requests. I am flexible and intuitive caregiver, who can follow an animal's set schedule or change plans last minute if necessary. I can walk dogs in their neighborhood or drive them to a park or hiking trail that will better suit them. I'm more than happy to throw a ball one thousand times for the fetch-loving pups or just have snuggle time on the couch.

Availability
My availability is a lot more limited than it was in the past. I work M-F days and am unable to leave during the day for potty breaks or walks during that time. I am still available for some weekends, evenings, and during school holidays. Feel free to inquire about specifics!
