Pet sitter with behaviour and training experience

Pet care experience

I am an experienced pet sitter who has now turned my passion for dogs into my full-time career. I am a small business owner making goods for dogs including bespoke and weather-proof collars, leads and harnesses, plus a range of natural treats and chews under my brand Milgi, meaning 'whippet' in Welsh. My business was inspired by my own two whippets, Ziggy (5) and Ringo (3). They are both neutered boys and very chilled out around other dogs. I discovered my interest in dog behaviour and training when working Dr. Roger Mugford who is widely renowned as Britain's leading animal behaviourist and founder of Halti. Since working with him in 2019 I have been developing my skills in training and behaviour, and as such am happy to work with you on any training or behavioural issues that you may be experiencing. Our home is super dog-friendly with a great outdoor space and plenty of sofa-space for cuddles. Our cat George runs the house and is very used to having lots of different dogs around. We are fortunate to have the South Downs right on our doorstep and the beach a short distance away. We are spoilt for choice with walks and rarely do the same walk twice in a week. During the day your dog will be hanging out with me, Ziggy and Ringo at home where I have my garden workshop. When the weather is good I keep the back of the house open so that the dogs have free run between the house, garden and workshop. On these days you'll usually find my two basking in the sun on the garden furniture. On colder days we light up the log burner where the dogs happily cosy up after a good walk. We have facilities for crating dogs up to Medium breed size. We also have the space to crate large and giant dog breeds, but you would need to bring your own suitably sized crate for us to use if you would like your dog crated.

Emma has the most wonderful time with Beth and her gorgeous dogs - from amazing walks across the downs to lots of cuddles - Emma is clearly really at home when she is with her, comfortable and happy - which is a joy to see! Beth keeps us updated with pictures and news when she stays and is really great with being flexible to our needs and hours. She also has an amazing dog brand which Emma currently is sporting in a new collar!

Information Beth H. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if you dog has any special requirements beforehand so that I can make sure that I can provide the best possible care for them. I am happy to work with you to accommodate any particular requirements in the best way possible.

A typical day

I love making sure that dogs are both mentally and physically stimulated. This includes lots of varied walks across the South downs, on the beach and through local forests. Beyond this I'm a big believer in providing mental stimulation through activities like hiding treats and snuffle puzzles. This helps your dog to relax in the new environment and feel more settled more quickly.
