Experienced with reactive and large dogs
Pet care experience
I have grown up with dogs and got my first personal dog 5 years ago. He passed his kennel club silver award before being attacked by an off lead dog which resulted in his becoming dog reactive. Due to this I have developed confidence and experience working with large breed dogs who are reactive. I am happy to work with muzzles and halters but do not work with E collars or Prong collars. I am also experiencing with Cats, horses, rabbits, Guinea pigs, hamsters and the odd reptile and will happily look after small pets at an additional cost. I have a full clear DBS check and am first aid trained.
Reviews
At very short notice Beth took my 2 vizslas for a one hour mainly off lead walk. From the photos they thoroughly enjoyed it. Would definitely book with Beth again (but would give more notice next time).
Beth is amazing, she is really professional & thorough in the way she approaches everything and she is brilliant with our cocker spaniel.
Beth was a delight -- she clearly cares for all animals and she's thorough, thoughtful and dependable. Communication was swift and clear. As an indicator of success, it's not like our crowd of dogs were happy to see us return!! In fact, I think they miss Beth!!!
Once again, a great drop-in. Beth always leaves a helpful note, so I know how Jasper is fairing in my absence.

Safety, trust & environment
I do not offer pet care in my own home as I have my own pets and do not want to intrude on their home environment. I am happy to provide dog walking however this will be on lead at all times for safety. I do have a 15m long line to allow your dog to play and run. I am happy to work with your pet on basic commands and will work with reactive dogs. If your dog is dog aggressive I will still walk them but will ask that adequate and safe equipment is provided. I will not walk a aggressive or reactive dog on a collar alone as they may slip this. I use a dual lead which clips to both a collar and a harness to ensure safety.
Information Beth D. would like to know about your pet
It is important that you disclose any health or behavioural issues prior to my looking after your dog. This is for both their and my own safety. I will never turn a dog away unless I genuinely believe it would not be in their best interest to be left in my care. It is also important I know their likes and dislikes and what their daily routine is as I will always attempt to keep as close to routine for them as possible. This helps to limit any stress your pet may feel at being separated from you.
A typical day
I believe dogs require both physical and mental stimulation, so as well as a walk and playing in the garden with your dog I will engaged them in reward based training. This is usually basic commands that your dog already knows however I am happy to work on new commands if you have a goal you are working towards. Games like this have been proven to help cognitive development and increase overall well-being.

Availability
I work full time however only spend 2 days per week in office. I will not be able to stay with your pets 24 hours a day as I have commitments to my own dog and horses. On office days I will be away for up to 10 hours. On work from home days I am happy to work from your home or drop in every 2 - 4 hours to take your pet to the bathroom and give it some socialisation time. If your pet is not house trained then this must be disclosed. I am willing to clean up the odd accident but if your pet is incontinent or frequently creates a mess this will require an additional fee.
