I'm 24 years old and full of energy! I love dogs and I am very patient and playful with them. I am hardworking and will always do my best job and try to find ways to improve. LIVING SITUATION Currently I work at an elementary school on weekdays from 8am-4pm. I find that this works really well for the dogs; the time is structured and consistent, and I get plenty of time to make sure they get fed properly and to squeeze in a nice walk if the weather permits. I typically ask that I can bring my dog to the house I am house sitting for, but if this is not possible I will do my best to accommodate! EXPERIENCE The majority of my dog care experience comes from the time I have worked at Camp Bow Wow where I took care of dogs for daycare and overnight care, and all the experience I have gained through sitting on Rover! I am very accustomed to caring for dog's needs on an hourly basis whether it involves feeding, medication, bathing/nail trims, keeping a clean living space, etc. Most of all, I learned how to analyze dog behavior and distinguish playful behavior from aggressive behavior, and to deescalate potentially harmful situations with groups of dogs. I've always been in a family with dogs and I have a lot of experience with them. I have been a pet owner for three years; I have one dog named Checkers and he's a 10lb four-year-old rat terrier/dachshund mix. He's very social and loves to play with all sizes of dogs but mostly larger dogs. Additionally, I work with 50+ sled dogs at Wintergreen Dog Sledding in Ely MN usually every year since 2011. My responsibilities include feeding, watering, and taking the dogs out for exercise (pulling sleds) and companionship (individual loving affection) each day. Checkers and I would love the opportunity to help you out while your out of town or busy and look after your furry friend for you. Most likely we'll be best friends by the time you come back to get them!
