Pet care experience
--ABOUT ME-- Hi! I'm Bena (she/they). I live in Leeds with my partner -- who adores pets like me -- and our beloved cat Mango. I love animals, I grew up with cats and became the neighborhood dog walker when I was 10. But I also love all kinds of pets and have experience caring for fish, rats, guinea pigs, ferrets, chickens, goats, and more. I would love to pamper your pets! I offer walks, drop-in visits, or housesitting stays. Let’s connect! Send me a message on Rover and I will respond as soon as possible. Please read through my entire profile, especially the schedule section, before messaging. --COVID SAFETY-- I am vaccinated for Covid and expect you to be as well. For meet and greets, if you wear a mask, I will wear one too, no questions asked. I typically do not wear a mask during drop-in visits or housesitting stays, but have no problem doing so if you request that.
Reviews
This is our 4 time asking Bena to care for our cats. She is very kind carrying and conscientious. Thank you Bena. Nugget and Pepper thank you also.
This was our second time having Bena care for our two elder cats. They require topical medication two times daily. Bena has taken on this responsibility with kindness and care. I would highly recommend Bena as your pet caregiver.
Bena did a fantastic job taking care of our very energetic pup. Bena communicated well, was on time, and was very comfortable with our dog. We would definitely like to book Bena again.
Bena was great with our girl Skye while watching her for a weekend! She was perfectly communicative and made sure that Skye thrived while we were away. Can't wait to find another time for our pup to get more quality time with Bena!

--SAFETY & TRUST-- At this time, I am not comfortable going off-leash with dogs unless I've taken care of them a few times, they are very used to me, and I'm familiar with the area that we're going off-leash. I don't want to put your dog or myself in an unpredictable, unsafe situation, and I find keeping them on-leash is the easiest way to prevent that! I am vigilant about locking doors. For most situations, a meet and greet at your house or a park is essential so I know what your pet needs. I will take pets for walks for however long you'd like, and I always clean up after pets. I love taking pictures during visits too so you know your baby is well taken care of! I make sure to go above and beyond, giving each pet all my love and attention. :)
Information Bena W. would like to know about your pet
--MEDICATIONS AND SPECIAL NEEDS-- Let me know if your dog has any special needs or medications that I should be aware of. I am experienced in giving oral medication but not so experienced in giving shots or taking care of special needs dogs, though happy to learn what your pet needs. I walk dogs with lots of different energy and anxiety levels, and I like to know ahead of time if a dog is overreactive in certain situations so I can prepare for it.
A typical day
--ACTIVITIES-- I love to take dogs out on fun trips, like for car rides or for pup cups, to the park, hiking trails, or by the river. A few favorite dog-walking spots: the Greenway/bike path that cuts through Leeds, Look Park, Childs park, the Smith trail around the Mill River, and the paths behind JFK Middle School. Let me know what your dog loves to do and I'm sure I'll love it too!!

Availability
--MY SCHEDULE-- I currently work full-time 9-5 Mondays-Fridays. Because of that, I’m available for walks or drop in visits on weekdays in early mornings, evenings, and nights. See below for housesitting info! --NOTES ON HOUSESITTING-- My partner and I share one car so for the time being, I cannot do long-term housesitting stays. I can easily housesit over the weekend, or potentially Thursday-Monday depending on location and need. As your sitter, I strip the sheets before I leave (can put it in the wash as well), wash any dishware I used, and always clean any messes I or your pet may have made during the stay. However, I won't clean up anything that didn't occur while I was housesitting. To me, common courtesy for bringing a sitter into your house to stay overnight means: having clean sheets on a bed; having a usable bathroom and kitchen; having a relatively empty trash can or notes on where to find items like extra paper towels, trash bags, wet wipes, toilet paper, broom, etc. I wouldn't put this information here if I hadn't been in situations where these courtesies didn’t happen. Thanks for your understanding!
