1 on 1 Dog Walking

Pet care experience

Hello! Do you need help with your dog walking and/or drop in visits? Your dog will be walked and cared for by myself and sometimes my partner, Zoë will tag along for the fun as well. The dog walking and drop-in-visits are all done in my spare time, around my normal 9-5 job as I am able to work from home a lot of the time. Meaning weekday walks and visits times are currently either 7am-8am, between 12pm-2pm, or 6pm-7pm. I have always been around animals, having grown up with black Labradors and cats at home, whilst family and friends also had/have various dogs, cats, rabbits etc. throughout the years and they always get my attention when visiting. I am registered with 2 animal charities, The Cinnamon Trust charity for helping elderly and terminally ill people look after their pets and Pro Dogs Direct who re-home dogs that are desperately in need of help, which means we can be asked to foster dogs at anytime. Our first foster was Chase, the 4 year old Chorkie and we looked after him for 2 months before he moved onto his forever home. We recently had Nelly and Noodles the Labradoodles staying with us until they moved their forever home, we looked after them for 10 months. We are always walking in the nearby parks, which means we know a lot of the local dogs so if you let us know whether your dog(s) like to socialise or keep to themselves on walks we can ensure they get an enjoyable experience whilst out and about. Obviously, we are happy to follow any rules or training you have for your dog. Feel free to send me a message to discuss dog walking and your dogs needs / drop in visits!

Ben has been fantastic with our two large greyhounds. They are always happy after a walk with him. He’s very responsive to messages and sends lots of pictures from the walk. We can highly recommend him!

Ben was very punctual, Luna came back happy and tired! He left a detailed update on how the walk went, with pictures! Prior to the walk, Ben met Luna, this was great as it made us feel comfortable and confident she is in good hands. Thanks Ben!

It"s the 2nd time Ben and Zoe have looked after our dogs. They are brilliant with them. We are updated on how they are and they had a great time. So great to find such a lovely couple to care for our boys. Thank you Ben and Zoe.

Safety, trust & environment

We discuss your dogs behaviour and tendencies with you beforehand at the meet and greet, we explain our routines and agree a plan, to ensure you are comfortable before entrusting us with your dogs. For example; one of the parks we go to near us, has a secure dog field, for letting dogs off the lead, so they can run around and play with other dogs. We use this to practice recall with the dogs that are used to us and to see how the dogs respond to us with distractions. Otherwise, for all new dogs we do not let them off lead. As you can read from the reviews, we love having dogs around and so they get spoilt with as much attention as we can provide.

Information Ben W. would like to know about your pet

Other things to mention (if not in your profile): - Feeding schedules (not eating right before a big walk) - Off-lead / recall / frequency of walks - Difficult behaviours, e.g. excessive barking and growling, toilet training - Any dislikes or things to look out for, e.g. cars, cyclists, buses, fireworks, known for digging, etc. Do you mind your dog being on social media?

A typical day

To start with I prefer to stick with parks that your dog is familiar with and then once everybody is happy we can look to go further afield and if you dog doesn't mind a car journey it could be the woods etc.
