Your dog is family!
Pet care experience
I have had a dog my whole life, a sheltie and mini aussie. Then during my undergraduate career I trained and fostered 5 mobility service dogs during my four years. Training and caring for this dogs was the best part of my college experience. Even though they were not truly mine, I loved them like my own and poured my heart and soul into those animals. I’m so proud of them and miss them everyday. I will make sure to treat your pets like my own. Lastly, I love my mini aussie, Milo, at home!

Ben has been a great help in the past taking care of my boy Diesel. He was always willing to help out in a pinch. He made sure to spend time with him not just take him out but give him quality attentions. I knew Diesel trusted him by the excitement he had when he would see Ben.
Ben is an excellent candidate for a service like Rover. Throughout his life, Ben has always been attentive to dogs’ needs and had dogsit for my family on numerous occasions. Ben became even more involved with caring for dogs during college, as he was an active member in the Illini Service Dog organization on the University of Illinois campus. Illini Service Dogs is an organization where students train and care for dogs from the time they are puppies, with the goal of matching them with someone with physical or mental disabilities that requires the companionship and aid of a service animals. Ben helped train these dogs to perform special household tasks, such as opening doors, retrieving items, and turning on lights. Ben was such a great caregiver that he even became the primary caretaker of one of these dogs. This was a huge responsibility, as Ben was responsible for not only taking care of the future service dog, but he needed to ensure the dog stayed on track in completing the service dog certification milestones. Ben exceeded all expectations, delivering exceptional care for the dog and made sure he stayed on track to becoming a certified service animal. I’ve never met anyone so passionate for the care and wellbeing of dogs as Ben. I wholeheartedly recommend him as a dogsitter and believe he would be an excellent addition to Rover!
Ben is a classmate of mine who has told me he worked with dogs in undergrad. So I let him dog sit for me one weekend when I was out of town (I have an almost 10 year old cavashon) and he let me take him to his place to stay, but was also open to staying at mine if my pup was more comfortable. My pup instantly had a connection with Ben and you could tell he felt comfortable with him. My pup ended up staying with Ben and his roommates and had the time of his life!! Ben made sure to send me updates (pictures and texts) about how my little pupper was doing, and he dropped him back off for me! 10/10 service!!

I am currently in a non-pet friendly apartment, so I cannot house dogs. However, I am very much able to walk and/or come check in on your pets. I promise to respect your home and pet to the highest regard.
Information Ben R. would like to know about your pet
I like to know how reactive a dog is to other dogs or people. This helps me keep everyone safe and calm to help prevent stressful situations from occurring of the dog(s) or other individuals. Also, if a dog does not respond well to a particular stimulus such as loud trucks, thunder, delivery drivers, etc.
A typical day
When with a dog, I love to make sure that they have their favorite toys. This helps them feel more comfortable in their environment. On walks I love to explore new places so we both can experience new things. I mainly like to change up the walk so that there is little monotony .
