It’s your dogs world! 🐶❤️

Pet care experience

Hi! I'm a PhD academic who loves all dogs - and the feeling tends to become mutual very quickly! Dogs have always felt very comfortable around me and I can tell what they're thinking before they even so much as whimper. I've taken care of breeds from Chihuahuas to Great Danes for over 10 years & started doing it for Rover in Dec. 2023. My lovely parents, Agi & Robert, often help with boarding and daycare when I’m out of town or working and they are fantastic with all dogs as well having raised several of their own. We’re a team and it’s become a family operation as they absolutely love caring for dogs in their retirement. When I’m not away, the three of us will be making your dog feel like a part of our family. EXPERIENCE We have raised dogs from birth and have experience with senior and disabled dogs who need extra help getting around - as well as dogs who need medication in the form of pills, eye drops, ointments, or injections. We give all of our pup guests plenty of individual care during walks, meal-time, playtime, and learning. Please indicate if you would like additional training or obedience lessons for adolescent dogs. If your pup is a working breed and you’d like continuous training, please feel free to bring a tug-rope, collie-ball, tennis balls, dummy-duck, snuffle-mat, or any other enrichment device. If your dog instead is independent, antisocial, has anxiety, or simply prefers quiet alone time, please mention that as well. We understand that each dog is unique and we are more than happy to accommodate to their individual personalities and needs. Your pup will have individualized one-on-one attention throughout the day according to your preference.

Richard had an amazing stay in his second home with Ben and his parents. When Agi and Robert picked up Richard, he recognized them immediately and was all over Robert. Richard doesn't get a lot of walks with us because of our busy schedule but Agi made sure he had a lot of them. At least 3 in a day with a lot of sniffing and exploring. Agi kept me posted on Richard's development with his loose leash walking and socialization/exposure therapy. What I love most about Ben and family is they are after the betterment of Richard's behavioral issues. They corrected those issues and he followed their instructions and commands. Ben conducted an obedience session where Richard learned to stop pulling entirely during his walk. They have also exposed Richard with another dog but he still needs to learn and reinforce correct social behaviors. I was worried that Richard wouldn't want to come home with us anymore, but he came home very happy. And we are too because of Ben and family. They are the best!

Loved having Agi take care of Buster. Agi is a kind and loving pet sitter and I will definitely use her again. She is personable and responsible. Thank you for taking care of our precious fur baby.

Safety, trust & environment

ENVIRONMENT We live in the gated retirement community of Rossmoor in Walnut Creek. It is a non-smoking home with no children, no other pets, and is a stones throw away from a popular dog park. The neighborhood is very clean and dog-friendly, with many tree-lined streets and walking trails, and very little car traffic. We always use a leash on walks unless otherwise instructed. If we are providing transportation for your dog, please indicate your preference for using K9 seat belt. Feel free to bring any toys your dog is particularly fond of for afternoon play and an article of your clothing with your scent if they’re staying overnight.

Information Ben B. would like to know about your pet

Please let us know if your dog is on any medications, has special needs including a special diet, uses a mobility aid such as a pet stroller, is leash-trained, house-trained, and/or crate-trained. Please also let us know if they get along with other dogs and children who we may encounter on our walks. We also appreciate having their current veterinarian info on hand if you so choose. Note: Please check your employee benefits for free pet-sitting. These are often listed as childcare credits through BrightHorizons but can be converted to Rover. We are more than happy to send photos/videos & updates during your pup’s stay, address any concerns by phone 24/7, and welcome FaceTime video calls if you simply miss them & want to say hello.

A typical day

Your pup’s first walk would typically be between 6:00 & 8:00am along the very dog-friendly streets and in the early afternoon they'll have an extended walk with a visit to the dog park, a nearby walking trail, or around the local reservoir (if desired). They'll get at least one more walk in the later part of the afternoon and another at nighttime (if they're staying overnight). At night they'll sleep comfortably in a bed, couch, or a dog bed of your preference.

I wake up at 5am Mon-Fri and get many times throughout the day to go outside for walks on many of the hiking trails in our gated community.
