Pet care experience
I am a former veterinary technician, non-profit animal rescue founder, and lifelong animal owner and lover who is available to provide "almost like my regular human" care to your pets. I live in a rural area, on 20 acres, and serve as butler and fan base to cats, dogs, horses and chickens. I am very comfortable caring for animals of all types, and my experience as a vet tech means I can handle even the most special needs (medications, fluid administration, etc). I work at home, so I have some flexibility to do drop-in and walking visits during the day, as well as provide daycare services in my home for one dog. I can also provide overnight stays in my home for select dogs and cats.

I first met Becky when she transported our family rescue dog from up north down to VA (who originally came all the way from Egypt). Not only is Becky easy to talk to, has a fun and great personality, but as a fellow animal rescuer she really cares about animals. I would trust Becky with my animals hand downs over anyone. She goes out of her way to give excellent care and treat every animal she comes across like her own. But more importantly she is knowledgeable and can follow instructions (lets be honest some pet sitters you leave a long list and they never read it, no Becky will read it probably 10 times, memorize it, and repeat it back to you before you leave.) If your animal has special or medical needs, i wouldn't leave it with anyone other than her. Only downside is she may spoil them so much they will ask for her by name when you come back from vacation. Even since her move across the country she continues to help in any small way she can with my equine rescue. What type of person goes out her way like that? One you can certainly trust to give your dog or cat top notch care.
I have known Becky for nearly 40 years can attest to her love of animals and responsibility toward their care. Becky has owned and cared for dogs, cats, horses, fish, birds, and probably other animals I can’t remember as well as being active with several different rescues for many years. Becky is always kind, caring and compassionate and is also able to handle any medical issues quickly and responsibly. I would leave any of my animals in Becky’s care!
Becky and I met through our mutual love of animals and have become friends. Becky transported my heart dog from CT to VA for me and I don’t know of anyone I would have trusted so completely with her care and safety. Over the years I have witnessed Becky’s love for her own animals, she spares no expense to ensure they have the best care. I have also witnessed Becky selflessly take in stray cats and provide them with veterinary care and a safe forever home. Becky is very knowledgeable around dogs, cats and equines. I would not hesitate to leave any of our animal family members in her care. If you are looking for someone who is extremely reliable and who will make the care and safety of your pet her first priority, then you just hit the jackpot. Becky is the best!

I have no preferences and am comfortable around all types of pets. Things that would be helpful to know ahead of time include: 1) Is your dog friendly toward other dogs? If we go for a walk do I need to be careful to avoid interactions? 2) Are there things your dog enjoys doing such as playing catch? Walking on the leash? Doing a quick potty break and then coming in for playtime inside? 3) And anything I should be on the lookout for - e.g. straining to urinate/defecate, lethargy, etc - that would indicate a known problem is flaring up.
A typical day
We have a very large property on a private road. We also have a large pond on our property, so dogs who come to stay can swim if they would like. Depending on where you live, drop-in visits and walks can take place in your neighborhood or at a local park. Every visit is customized based on needs and location!
