Pet care experience
I CARE FOR PUPS UP TO 20-ish POUNDS Hello, my name is Beckie. I began pet sitting after retiring. Now my life is full of puppy-love, writing, crafting, gardening and enjoying life! I have a great group of recurring houseguests and love meeting new pups who would fit in with our band of little rascals! We welcome all fun-sized pups (toy, miniature and small dogs) in our home. We are very experienced in caring for senior dogs, but love to socialize puppies (of all breeds up to 20ish lbs). We do require a meet-and-greet for all new pups regardless of size or age. My goal is to provide a loving, safe home-away-from-home for your pet while you are away. Your treasured family member will be treated exactly as you would hope. In fact, exactly as I would want you to treat my dog Freddie, if he were in your home. I am certified in Red Cross Pet CPR & First Aid and have taken several dog obedience training classes. Our yard is shady and fenced with easy access for guests to come and go from inside to outside as they please. Our home is ranch-style with tiles and wood floors. We love having friends over for the day, overnight, or extended visits. We love to post daily updates on Facebook (Freddie's House) for you to check out.
Reviews
My Frannie loved her time with Beckie and her fur friends. It was like she was at camp rather than being boarded. They had the patience to put up with her quirks. And gave her tons of love. I would definitely recommend Beckie
Safety and our dogs wellbeing was our top concern. We were not disappointed. Beckie is a rare find.
Beckie is wonderful with dogs. Our Shihtzu, Willow, had a grand time, came home tired but happy. We received pictures and videos during her stay allowing us to see the activities that our dog experienced. We'll definitely be going back.
My dog had a great time at Becky's house. He is older and can be a bit anxious but he came home happy and calm. Becky was a pleasure to work with. Her yard is entirely fenced and a wonderful place for dogs. I won't hesitate to use Becky's daycare again.

Information Beckie L. would like to know about your pet
I welcome socialized fun-sized dogs (toy, miniature, small) who are current on all their vaccinations. I prefer dogs who don't "mark" inside and won't chew on furniture. I would want to know: - Age and general health. - Where your dog normally sleeps when home? - What kind of life-style does your dog enjoy when with you (e.g., daily walks, time spent outside vs. inside, etc.) - Is your dog crate trained? - What, if anything, upsets or scares your dog? - What does your dog love the most?!
A typical day
My style of dog-care is achieved through positive reinforcement, kindness, consistency, trust, and pure love for animals. I do not believe in dominant forms of dog handling. I do have an outside and an inside kennel in the event of an urgent situation; but I don't believe in kenneling dogs for any length of time, and only in specific situations or if your pet is acclimated to the kennel and prefers to be there. Our guests are fed and exercised on a routine schedule. Since my work as a freelance writer is done from home, your dog will be around me all day, and in the evening they will be with both me and my husband. Like my dog Freddie, they will be spoken to, petted and loved throughout the day. Walks will happen most days, but will depend on the house guests, weather and pick-up/drop-off schedules. Guests can expect stimulating play, walks and plenty of cuddles. From our home there are many safe walks, and with your permission, I love to pack them in the car from time-to-time and go to the Burke-Gilman Trail, Hamlin Park, Magnuson Park, or one of the many dog friendly parks nearby for longer walks and play. Of coarse if your pet loves to just lounge around then that is what they can do! While guests are welcome on the furniture (especially the little guys), dog beds are conveniently placed throughout the house. I let them figure our where they are going to be most comfortable and go from there.
