My dog senses are tingling

Pet care experience

COVID-19 Update I am fully vaccinated as of April 26, 2021! I wear a mask and carry hand sanitizer. I am doing my best to keep up with any new information that becomes available. I have five years of volunteer shelter work, six years of professional dog handling, one year of professional pet grooming, and two years of professional puppy training in a class environment under my belt. I've administered all sorts of medications, I've worked with deaf dogs, geriatric dogs, very large and very small dogs, leash reactive dogs, and all sorts of pet parents! What I most enjoy is working with dogs in packs. I have studied and have a solid understanding of dog body language. I had dogs all throughout my youth, and have been caring for extended family's pets since I was a small child. If you're worried about a sitter being able to handle your dog, let's chat! I've never met a mastiff I didn't love. Dog Breeds I've worked with- Airedale Terrier Alaskan Klee Kai Alaskan Malamute American Staffordshire Terrier Anatolian Shepherd Dog Australian Cattle Dog (Heelers, both blue and red) Australian Shepherd Basenji Basset Hound Beagle Bearded Collie Berger Picard Bernese Mountain Dog Bichon Frise Black Russian Terrier Bloodhound Bluetick Coonhound Border Collie Boston Terrier Boxer Boykin Spaniel Briard Brussels Griffon Bulldog Bull Mastiff Bull Terrier Cardigan Welsh Corgi Catahoula Leopard Dog Chesapeake Bay Retriever Chihuahua Chow Chow Clumber Spaniel Cocker Spaniel Collie Coton De Tulear Dachshund (all sizes) Dalmatian Doberman Pinscher English Cocker Spaniel English Setter English Springer Spaniel French Bulldog German Shepherd Dog German Shorthaired Pointer German Wirehaired Pointer Giant Schnauzer Golden Retriever Great Dane Great Pyrenees Greyhound Ibizan Hound Irish Setter Italian Greyhound Jack Russell Terrier Keeshond Komondor Labrador Retriever (all colors) Leonberger Maltese Manchester Terrier (both sizes) Miniature American Shepherd Miniature Pinscher Miniature Schnauzer Newfoundland Old English Sheepdog Papillon Parson Russell Terrier Pembroke Welsh Corgi Pointer Pomeranian Poodle (all sizes) Pug Rat Terrier Rhodesian Ridgeback Rottweiler Russell Terrier Saint Bernard Schipperke Shetland Sheepdog Shiba Inu Shih Tzu Siberian Husky Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Staffordshire Bull Terrier Standard Schnauzer Tibetan Spaniel Treeing Walker Coonhound Vizsla Weimaraner Welsh Terrier West Highland White Terrier Whippet Wirehaired Pointing Griffon Yorkshire Terrier Plus countless doodles, mixes, crosses, pitties, bullies, and a dog that I'm pretty sure was a wookie that got stranded on earth and learned to walk on all fours. This. is. FAYETTEVILLE! Much like everything else in this college town, my schedule changes as the semesters change since my client base includes students and faculty at the U of A. Dog Walking I am a full time dog walker and trainer. I prefer to have dogs on a regular schedule, as dogs thrive with routine, but I am available for on demand walks as well. I prefer to walk dogs on regular leashes (non-retractable). If you only have a retractable leash, I will walk your dog with my own 6ft leash. This is for your dog's safety. Doggy Daycare If your dog doesn't get along with others, please let me know and I'll only take your dog that day- as long as I'm not already booked, of course. I will take them on long walks, hiking, different trails, etc. I like to mix up the routine, and it's good for your dog to visit new places. WEATHER: Unless you specifically request otherwise, I will take the dogs out in any sort of weather that I can safely drive in- meaning light snow, rain, etc. If there is lightning or threat of tornado, we will not go out. Drop In Visits I'm happy to visit your dog, cat, rat, lizard, rabbit, or really any other pet. I prefer to make my visits during the day. House Sitting I actually prefer house sitting to drop in visits. I am available to do this nearly any time. I update my Rover calendar frequently so you can have a good idea of my availability. When I stay in your home, I will spend most of my time in your home with your pets. My husband, Kevin, accompanies me to all house sitting bookings. He loves cats, but don't worry dog folks, dogs love him. I don’t mind the weather as long as it is suitable for your dog. I always carry the best treats and an extra leash. Dog Walking We will go on walks in your neighborhood. If you live near the greenway, we will walk along the trail. If there is a park near your home, we will go there. I am comfortable in all environments during daylight hours. After dark, I do not book rural walks. If you are in need of a dog walker after dark in a rural area, please message me and we can discuss further. If you book a walk in the evening, my husband will probably accompany me. Dog Daycare/Pack Walking I pick up your dog, we may need to pick up another dog or two, we go for a nice long walk (at least an hour), and I bring your dog home. I group the dogs together based on temperament, training, reactivity, and activity level. Our pack goes to Lake Fayetteville, Scull Creek Trail, Mount Kessler, Gulley Park, Mud Creek Trail, Wilson Park, The Greatest Trail Ever (in Springdale), Prairie Grove Battlefield Park, Frisco Trail, the historic Fayetteville square, and many other locations in and around Fayetteville. Dog walking and pet sitting is what I do. I have a few regular clients, and working with live animals is often unpredictable so my schedule is flexible. For dog walking and doggie daycare🐶🐾👣- my day often begins about 9am and ends by 6pm. Again, there is some flexibility in my schedule so if you need those services outside of that time frame please don't hesitate to reach out. We may be able to work something out! For pet and house sitting🏠- I can stay with your pet in the evening and throughout the night. I can return in the middle of the day for potty breaks and serving lunch, or just hanging out. I cannot stay with pets 24 hours a day. If you'd like your dog to join me on my dog walks throughout the day, I can arrange that for $15 per day. When pets are in my care, we typically go to parks and trails as much as the weather allows and return to my home for downtime only, as my space is pretty small. However, the dogs love this and go home ready to chill with you and relax. I like to think of it as doggie adventure days. I have extra leashes and long lines to allow your dog to safely run around in these open environments. In the clients home, I often encourage outdoor play and or/walks as often as the weather allows. In either environment, I treat your pet as my own. I love on them, ask them to sit for treats, let them outside or walk them as much as they want (or more than they want if they are stubborn about pottying 😬😉), and try to make sure they have an enriching, active experience while they are in my care.

Becca did a FANTASTIC job with our mini-goldendoodle, Stella. Our dog is usually very shy around strangers but ran up to Becca immediately, it must be her "dog vibe." Becca was on time and very helpful, we will book her again if we're even in the area.

Becca did a fantastic job. She was extremely nice, very punctual, communicated well, and most importantly she was super great with our fur children.

Becca was super knowledgeable and extremely conscientious about what was appropriate for my puppy, Ripley. We had Becca watch her for two days and although our 5.5 month old had never been left with anyone else, and is generally stand-offish, she ran to Becca full of wiggles and smiles on day two!! We were only visiting, so the care was extra appreciated and made it possible for us to do a few activities that we would have otherwise had to miss. It was a wonderful experience and a win-win for our whole pack!

Information Becca J. would like to know about your pet

Has your dog had any formal training (obedience, agility, etc)? Do they know any tricks? Do they have food allergies? What is their routine like? Do they have any known reactivity issues? Most people don't answer these, so if you do it'll just be a nice bonus for me. ;)

A typical day

A good game of fetch, tug (when appropriate), chase (tag), find it, these are the love languages of dogs. I love to figure out your dog's favorite ways to play and play with them! My favorite way to play with dogs is to play tag. Most dogs love this. I chase them, they chase me, repeat until we're both out of breath.
