Can’t wait to care for your pup!
Pet care experience
My spouse and I have had family dogs most of our lives and currently have a 2.5 year old Rottweiler, Linus. We got him about a year ago, and he has taken my love for dogs/dog training to the next level. He is a working breed and came to us with a lot of high needs/anxiety, so modifying his behavior has been a journey. Happy to report he has really transformed and through that process has taught both Alec and I so much. Linus is great with other dogs, and loves a bud to play with, but we are also able to keep dogs separate if needed through crate rotation and individual outings. At this point our house looks like a dog training facility, so we have all the infrastructure to make sure everyone stays safe, comfortable, and cared for. I have particularly taken a strong interest in dog behavior and training, so bring that skillset and interest to the table when working with any new pup. I should note that Linus is not Alec and I's first dog together, we previously had a pitbull mix and a lab mix who thankfully lived long lives. They also taught us a lot about dogs and dog behavior as both of them had their own set of quirks/needs as well. All that to say, we are really comfortable and competent handling dogs with higher needs. We are also experienced working with all ages of pups. We know the drill when it comes to administering medicines/supplements/catering to dietary restrictions and will make sure your pups routine does not skip a beat in our care. We are a very active family and love any opportunity to take long walks and hikes. We promise to be in consistent communication with you about how your pup is doing and will send plenty of pics and updates. We completely understand that it can be stressful leaving your pets, and will make sure that we do everything in our power to ensure you and your pup are as comfortable as possible. My husband, Alec, works remotely from our home and I’m back in school for social work, with most of my classes remote. Outside of errands or the possible dinner out, we will always be around. If requested, we will make sure one of us is at the house with the pups at all times! We have a pretty structured schedule with Linus and can loop your dog into that routine, or continue what you are doing regularly at home. Our day begins with about a 2 hour hike/walk, then home for some decompression/relaxation/crate or place time. We do a few backyard breaks throughout the day and also integrate some shorter play and training sessions throughout. Afternoon/evening we go out for another long neighborhood walk (an hour) and follow that up with some play or training before settling in for the evening. We utilize a lot of place and crate training with Linus because it helps him relax and unwind in his own space. I have learned that this general structure is super helpful with other dogs at the house, but are flexible depending on your dogs needs and can chat about what you want management to look like. We also understand that not all dogs need 3+ hours of active exercise everyday. We will absolutely meet your dog where they are at and make sure they are their happiest selves in our care. I also want to note that although we run a relatively structured schedule with Linus, our house is very dog friendly. Dogs are allowed on couches and beds as long as it is safe for everyone and there is no known history of resource guarding or anything like that. We have a single family house with a large fenced in backyard!
Reviews
Milo loves his walks with Becca & Alec!
Milo came home happy & tired - success!!
Becca and Alec were awesome with Tilly who can be pretty nervous and timid around new people and in new settings. She settled in to their lovely home and got to know them and their own dog. A few walks in the evening and some relaxing on the couch made for a great night for her and for us while we enjoyed a really nice dinner in Portland. They were kind and reassuring to us all. Will very happily reach out to them again next time we are in town. Highly recommend!
Becca has watched my dog multiple times over the years. She's always been available to look after my dog along with her own pups. She had no problem handling all 140 lbs of him! Each time she's pup-sat, she takes great care of him.. and me, too! She would always send updates and pics to let me know how my dude did that day, who he played with, and what friends he made at the park. I've trusted Becca for long and short occasions and she's always been super accommodating. My guy always comes home happy, but I have a feeling he wants to stay with her just a bit longer!

Information Becca & Alec M. would like to know about your pet
Please let us know any and all of your dogs needs/likes/quirks/routines. The more specific the better, you can never give us “too much” info. I’m very type A myself and always appreciate notes or lists if that is your thing! We prefer to meet the dog ahead of time and make sure it is a good fit. We also want to make sure that Linus and your pup can be neutral around one another. Even the most "dog friendly dogs" can have other pups they don't prefer to be around for whatever reason, so we want to make sure it is a good fit!
A typical day
Hikes, play, training sessions, long walks, cuddles (if they like that), play time with Linus (if they are into that) and pretty much anything your dog likes to do, we can make happen.

Availability
Alec works remote and I am in school, so we are at the house the majority of the time. When we do leave for the occasional outing, we don't leave our dog home alone for more than 4-5 hours at a time. If your dog is in our care, they will not be left alone at house at anytime unless agreed upon between all parties.
