I was extremely nervous letting someone I did not know watch my dog...nevermind stay in my apartment. To start with, I asked her to be there before 1030am because I left at 230am and I told her no more than 8 hours between walks. She told me she was on her way to my apartment at 830am. I have a nanny cam in my apartment and I periodically checked in on my pup because he has separation anxiety. At 930 she texted me saying he was a little out of it due to the Xanax I gave him in the morning. However, she was not there, she had never been there, she arrived after noon. Fine, things happen, right? I caught her in a lie but whatever. I told myself maybe something happened to her and she didn't want to worry me about my dog. As soon as she got there, I turned off my nanny cam. That was until I checked my phone at 11pm and had a voicemail from my super. Someone called him to complain that my pup was scratching at the door and crying and barking. My stomach sank. He would only do that if he needed to go out. I turned my cameras back on. The room was dark, my pup was pacing. I could tell he needed to go out. I freaked out and was about to call Beatriz but at that moment I see her walk in and she fed him. Which meant she had never been back to feed him dinner? That's so not fair to him. A few seconds later a guy comes into the shot and turns the camera around. She assured me she would never bring someone over. Honestly, I would have been okay with that but that's now lie #2. They proceed to turn my nanny cameras away which made me think she was hiding something. I could hear loud music through the speakers. Was she throwing a party? Who knows? I could still hear music at 1am. I call Rover and ask what to do, they told me I could call her but I was afraid she would retaliate...I don't know her, she seemed sweet but who knows. They offered to find a replacement but luckily my friend said she would go over first thing in the morning. I left Beatriz a voicemail in the morning to let her know my friend was going to take care of him. When my friend arrived at 830am, Beatriz was not there. The bed was not slept in and luckily no signs of any party being thrown. My friend took my pup for a walk and she said she had never seen a dog pee so much so quickly, she could tell it had been a while. My pup is not a big eater at all but she said she fed him and he scarfed it right down. How could Beatriz do that to my pup? She finally arrived at my apartment around 1030am. That meant she was willing to go 11 hours without taking my dog out? She called me and gave a lot of excuses (she was at an event, she was sick, her boyfriend came to help her, she needed medicine at her place, she ended up falling asleep there). Too many excuses for one day. But things happen and a call or text would have been appreciated. If she didn't like the cameras, oh well, suck it up and just do your job. But I get it, it can be creepy all she had to do was call me and ask if she could turn them around when she was there. Instead she takes it upon herself to move things in my apartment. Let's be clear, he's a dog and he was fine and would've been fine but bottom line, Beatriz did not do what was asked of her. If she couldn't handle the responsibility then she should be honest. I would've rather that and had rover find me a replacement instead of spending hours worried while on vacation. Could this have been a one time occurence for her? Absolutely but I wouldn't take the chance.

Beatriz was great. She was flexible and accommodating and responded quickly. I plan to use her again to watch my pup!
