Over the life, so far, I’ve had 2 dogs and a ferret, whilst taking care of family friends’ dogs as well, as their dogs particularly liked me! One of my dogs was trained by me from when he was 3 months old. He passed away recently at the age of 14, due to the old age and complications caused by several strokes. Prior to this unfortunate event, I was caring for him extensively by providing medical attention due to the strokes he had, which allowed him to stay with us for a little longer… Since an early age, people were referring to me as an animal whisperer as I would always understand what they need and want, and so far, I haven’t come across a dog that wouldn’t listen or like me. Also, I’m a master at ear and butt scratches! Me and my partner are mainly working from home and are quite flexible with our time throughout a day. We have a nice little park nearby where we can go for walks, and also a communal garden which is fenced. For longer walks, we tend to go to bigger parks nearby as well. At home, there’s enough space as well, as we live in a duplex apartment. We do allow dogs on furniture, as long as the owner allows that too. In addition, I have taken care of a senior dog who also had special needs such as occasional inability to walk or sit, and a partial blindness. At some point, the dog had to receive 5 different medications several times a day, where I had to be extremely organised and cautious. I have also got some experience in taking care of a blind cat, however, I am allergic, therefore we do not accept cats.
