I grew up with dogs in my house from the age of 5. We had a boarder collie named midnight and she was an amazing and intelegent dog We had her from a puppy and she passed of old age After she left us we got another dog Ethan was a gold lab and she was too smart for own good and mischievous. Very playful and very protective of the family. I moved out of the house before she passed but my partners had her until she passed. Since we have been married my wife and I had several dogs including a rescue dog from the pound and no one new what breed she was but we took her anyway. It turns out that she was approx two years old and was a full pure bred west highland terrier or westie that someone had abandoned. Her name was Mandy and she was a great little dog until our daughter was born and became a little aggressive (jealous) We had to find her a new home. We made sure she went to a home that would take as good a care of her as we did She went to the home of one of my wife’s colleagues and lived to 15 yrs. Once our children were old enough we adopted a pure bred labradoodle our girls named Ally. She was extremely intelligent and loving and enjoyed time being chased around the back yard or out for walks and finding the biggest stick she could carry and did so any chance she got Unfortunately at the age of 13 she came down almost over night with auto immune and her system slowly shut down Christmas Day we woke up to find her craning her neck struggling to breath At that moment we had to find a vet to put her down so that she would not suffer anymore. And we did thankfully but we have not got a new dog as of yet as her passing was very hard on all of us But any chance we get we will always take in our eldest daughters new puppy and a good friends dog who is also a rescue dog from Mexico
