I ♥ love animals > people!

Pet care experience

* Red Cross Pet First Aid and Red Cross CPR/AED/FIRST AID Certified * Fully Insured * COVID-19 Certified for Professional Pet Sitters & Dog Walkers * COVID-19 vaccinated For as long as I can remember, I have loved animals. When I was in elementary school, I would glance out my classroom window and watch one of the neighbors walk their dachshund, only to daydream that I was walking one of my own. Growing up in an apartment complex, we were never allowed to have pets. For years, I longed to have a dachshund of my own and now I do. My love of animals also lead me to the Animal Protection Society of Durham where I was able to donate my time walking and caring for dogs that were waiting to be adopted. Although I have a special place in my heart for dachshunds, I love all dogs big and small, all animals for that matter. I will treat your fur babies with the love and care as if they were one of my own. Whether it's long walks, playing, feeding, or just some cuddle time, the safety, health, and happiness of your animals are always my main concerns. I am pretty much available any time unless my calendar shows different. I can usually fit in a last minute walk or check up if needed. I am also available to check on your pets while you are at work. Dog walking/Pet Drop In Rates: (holiday rates additional) 15 mins - $18 30 mins - $24 60 mins - $45 House Sitting Rates: (holiday rates additional) $85.00 - rate includes guaranteed overnight stay at clients home from 10:00pm-7:00am. Stays may be longer if I do not have to get to other daily clients. Stays include an evening potty break, treats, morning breakfast, a morning 20 minute walk, and lots of cuddles. Additional walks and/or check ins are charged at the regular rates. Please inquire about all inclusive rates **All visits are subject to an in person Meet and Greet and completion of Liability Agreement form. ***FOR THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF YOUR PETS: If you are going to be away for more than 36 hours, I require a minimum of three (3) visits for dogs. A minimum of once a day for cats. Customized visits can consist of walks, feedings, administering medicine, playtime, cuddles, bringing in the mail and packages, watering plants, and extra security such as setting lights on and off to make it look like you are home.

I have used Rover a couple of times here in NC and many times in ND. I have to say that Barbara is the best of the best!! She is the first person to actually take notes during the meet and greet, email/text the plan prior to me leaving, and leave a Thank You card for having the opportunity to take care of my fur baby. I very much appreciated this. Alllll my instructions were followed. I have a long hair cat and if he’s not brushed daily, he mats. I can tell if he has not been brushed when I return. I come back from my trip and he has mats….he’s not been brushed like he should be. I also know when the time block that I’m paying for was not utilized because I know my fur baby. I had nothing to worry about with Barbara. Her daily notes and pictures were perfectly detailed. I DEFINITELY recommend Barbara for your fur baby needs! And I will DEFINITIVELY be using her every time I travel. I am at peace now with my pet care. Thank You Barbara?

Barbara was so great with our dogs! Our very shy, mini goldendoodle usually doesn’t like many new people but he absolutely adored Barbara! I highly recommend her with all of your pets needs!

I do not have the option to care for pets in my home as my own fur baby will not allow it. I do provide overnight pet house sitting when possible for select clients. I mainly make in home pet visits and dog walking. Whether it's for a quick drop in or a longer vacation, I can make multiple visits as needed to ensure your pet gets the attention and care needed while you are away.

Information Barbara T. would like to know about your pet

Important things that I would like to know about your dog would be if they any illnesses, special needs, allergies, take any medications, or need any type of special accommodations. It's also important to know if they have any aggressive behavior that I may need to be aware of. My main concern is that thay stay safe, happy, and healthy and that is accomplished through open communication with you.

A typical day

First and foremost, the health, safety, and happiness of your dog is my number one priority. Walks will be conducted in your local neighborhood. If there are special places your dog prefers, please let me know. Some neighborhoods have safe and clean dog parks that we could go and play fetch or run around for exercise. If you have a fenced in yard, some fun playtime can happen there too.
