Pet care experience
I’ve always been a pet lover, but began my “professional career” at age 12, as a Junior Dog Handler in the AKC. I loved showing my Dalmatian and the other dogs from our local club. I took a hiatus during college, got a “real job” after, & began working PT as a dog training instructor. I had so many clients as an instructor that I quit the daily grind & began my own walking company in Ohio. When I moved to DC, I never thought with the cost of living that this would be feasible, so I went back to a “real 9 to 5”. Now, I know that it’s time to begin doing what I love again, working with animals!

Hammer was in good hands with Barbie! She is great with pets, she took the time to find the cat to play. Barbie kept me up to date with the visits and overall is a lovely person. Will be requesting her services again next time i need pet care!
Once again, Barbi was great with our difficult English bulldog! Not only is he well taken care of, we also get frequent updates, she brings in our mail and packages and always leaves the house super clean. Highly recommend her for dog sitting!

My experience has been with all size of pets from 145 pound German-bred Rottweilers to Chihuahuas, to Bengal cats, so I'm open to all. As for training, I'd be happy to continue any specific training techniques that you may be working on.

I do offer the option of bringing my greyhound, Bleu over to your house to play, & visit your dog. If this interests you, I do require a meet & greet with our pets, so we may make sure everyone get along. This would also be the time to learn your pets' intricacies, discuss any medical concerns and/or behavioral issues.
A typical day
Our active family would be happy to take your dog on “adventures” to visit the local parks. Where we'd have access to a fenced, off-leash area or to go for a hike; just let me know! As for kitties, I'd be happy to walk harnessed outside, if that's their jam!

Availability
School day's I drive to/from the Kingstowne/N. Fort Belvior area on a biweekly basis, so my visits to your home would work around these commutes: 7:30am & 3pm. My family & I are available to board sighthounds with our Greyhound, Bleu. If you're interested in this option, please message me to discuss.
