24/7 at home care for your pup!

Pet care experience

The basics: 1. Experienced dog sitter and pet parent. 🙂 2. You are the only client (1:1 time for your pup)! 3. A loving human available for your pup 24/7! I provide one on one care and support for your loved one. As a pet parent myself, I understand how nerve-wracking it can be to leave your pup with someone. Therefore I only take 1 dog (or 2 if you have two in your household) at a time. I offer the attention your pooch is used to from having you all to themselves. :) They’ll have the run of the house! A stay with me involves cuddles on the couch (if they're used to that), trips to the dog park, hikes, and/or lots of playtime. Your pup will be pooped by the end of their stay with all the love and fun they’ll have! I have had experience caring for cats, rabbits, dogs of all shapes and sizes (special needs, anxiety, large exercise needs, blind, and ill). I am happy to care for any dog, regardless of breed, and am willing to work with larger dogs (101+ lb) if they are well trained, i.e. won't pull me down the street on a walk! Prior to a stay, we’ll meet to see if we're a match, and potentially sniff out where they’ll be staying. We'll go on a test walk together; meet and greets are essential to make sure your dog and I are a good match, ensuring the best stay for everyone.

I can’t speak more highly of Barbara! She was so great with my very anxious and nervous senior dog. Her communication was wonderful. She sent me so many updates and pictures.

Barbara has been the best rover sitter I have ever used. She is flexible with my work schedule and takes incredible care of my extra large puppy who can be quite the handful (he is a 90 lb 9 month old newfypoo puppy). She keeps me updated and is always responsive and ready to pick him up or bring him out to my car whenever I arrive. I would highly recommend her (and I have used at least 5 other Dogsitters in the past on Rover)

Safety, trust & environment

Pets are treated like family. I encourage you to bring whatever will make your pet most comfortable while you're away. I live in a very pet friendly apartment and have easy access to the outdoors for walks and bathroom breaks.

Information Barbara H. would like to know about your pet

Tell me about any specific likes, dislikes or quirks your dog has. The more I know, the better I can keep your dog used to his/her regular routine and reduce stress. When does he/she usually get fed? How are they with other dogs? Do they like running after squirrels? Are there any allergies or medications I need to know about? If your dog prefers solo walks or time with friends, let me know so we can try to arrange this. I allow dogs on the furniture if you do, so let me know if this is allowed in your home or not.

A typical day

I'm available for excursions at whatever schedule your pooch is used to. We'll take a walk on the American Tobacco trail, around the Eno, through the neighborhood, or the local park-whatever your dog is happiest with. If he/she prefers having a ball tossed around we'll have the greatest game of catch! After activities, we'll have lots of time for snuggles and scratches Baths if we get super dirty! Drop-in visits will allow for a potty break, food (if it's that time), and some leg stretching plus cuddles. We might even chat about the meaning of life. In your home, we'll stick to your dog's regular routine, take a walk or adventure around town, check some messages, and settle in to the rest of the day. Maybe some animal planet adventures? We'll have some cuddles, a nice scratching session, and some more walks/explorations during the day before settling down for a nice dinner and snuggles before bed.
