Pet care experience
I have had pets since I was two years old. My aunt used to say that I was born to take care of pets. I have owned cats, dogs, fish, horses, reptiles, hamsters, mice and even some critters from my creek. I have had the pleasure of working with a few vets who taught me some basic medical care skills (giving injections, IV fluids, etc.). I can also provide dog training services as well as helping puppies start with basic obedience.

Barbara was so great with our new puppy! My wife and I needed someone to come visit twice a day for a week to feed/water/play. Our puppy really took to her fast. I highly recommend Barbara to anyone that is looking for someone to work with their dog. She's always on time and our pup was always very excited to see her! We received detailed updates and pictures/videos on every visit. It definitely helps put our minds at ease knowing our puppy was in good hands!
Barbara was amazing! She made our first time experience absolutely stress free knowing that our dogs were being well taken care of! She sent an update every night of how the day went along with several pictures. Lexi and Baxter were very comfortable with her and took to her immediately 😊…definitely will be getting Barbara again when we go on our next adventure! Thanks again Barbara!! 🥰

I can not care for pets in my home at this time but I will ensure your home will look like you are still there. I meticulously manage the care of your pets as well as your home as if they/it were my own. I've had pet store clerks tell me that when they die, they want to come back as my pet!

I love all animals but I'll want to meet your pet(s) close to your departure date. That way I can write down a daily diary to use for the care of your pet(s). In regards to dogs, I do not discriminate on breeds but as a dog trainer, it is important that more protective dogs have several visits with me prior to your departure. I want them to know who I am and accept me when you're not there.
A typical day
If I'm just doing a drop-in visit, I'll make sure the pet is fed and has fresh water. Then we'll have some playtime followed by some cuddle time. I'll check the house to be sure it's secure (newspapers/mail in, open close blinds, lights on or off, etc.). If it's a dog walking visit, I'll make sure to give the dog plenty of good smelling time outside. All pets need mental stimulation and I'll ensure they get it by talking to them, sharing new smells, playing with them and using their stored up energy.

I am now retired and want to love on more than just my two dogs. My time is very flexible and am willing to care for as many pets as possible - even cows!
