I am a recently retired school teacher who has just lost my precious dog of 13 years. I have a lot of love to give to your loved one in my home or yours. I am experienced in medication and care for senior animals. I am also experienced in training puppies.

I am always a little sad when we have to leave our dog, Sadie, behind; she'll be 8 years old this year and she's truly a member of our family, probably a little spoiled, so I worry about her when we're away. Barbara was amazing!! From our first meeting, it was obvious she has a LOT of love for dogs, and Sadie took to her immediately. Barbara's fenced in yard is perfect for any pet that needs to run a bit and explore, and she's within walking distance to some great nature trails. -Sadie received more walks during her stay with Barbara than she does when she's at home! I love that Barbara also sent me photos - it seems Sadie was snuggled regularly by someone, and it just made me feel good to know she was in a place where people cared for her. Worth every penny - I will definitely use Barbara again, and I highly recommend to anyone who wants to know their fur-baby will be well loved & cared for. ? Thanks!
Barbara took wonderful care of our sweet dog Merry! We met her ahead of time, which made us all very comfortable. Merry was safe and sound with Barbara. We would feel great having Barbara watch her anytime!

Barbara was awesome watching my dog for several weeks. She is reliable, attentive and loving and my dog had a great time while visiting her home. She is knowledgeable with dogs and takes the time to understand your pets specific needs. She also makes them feel like one of the family. She has a fenced in yard in a quiet neighborhood and miles of great walking trails at her doorstep so furry friends receive lots of exercise. I would highly recommend her!

I have a fenced in, level back yard available for exercise and potty breaks. We have sidewalks through out our neighborhood and are conveniently located close to paved bike paths available for walking. I do have a crate if your loved one prefers to sleep in a crate. I do allow pets on furniture and in bed as they prefer.

Please let me know your dogs preferences and known commands. When I accept puppies I do incorporate potty training with a bell on the door knob and getting used to here, stay and sit. If you have different commands I will need to know.
A typical day
I go for walks around the neighborhood. The dogs love to check out all the new smells and sounds. We also play in the backyard as well, throwing a ball or stick. We play in the house on not so nice days.

Availability
I go out to grocery shop and visit local stores in Madison. I like to walk our local bike paths. Mostly I am home. From time to time I may be providing math and science tutoring in my home to local students.
