Hi there! I have had pets all my life. I actually had a dog sitting “business” starting at age 12, watching friends and family’s dogs while they were out on vacation. Although I’ve moved away from my home town, to attend UL, I continued to dog sit, here and there for those searching for a reliable and trustworthy in home dog sitter. I have since moved to Breaux Bridge, and still watch dogs in my home when referred to by others, but I don’t have a very large network here, since I am not from here. We live on about an acre and a 1/2, with a fenced in back yard. I currently have a cat, a rabbit (who lives inside/outside), a long hair chihuahua, and a lab mix. They all get along well, are used to other animals, and the lab is a gentle giant- who has no past or current issues with aggression, and also loves to have a play mate. Due to having a rabbit, cat, and small size dog, who are vulnerable to large dogs, I do expect your dog to have experience around smaller animals and no issues with aggression. I have to look our for the safety of my own pets, and If you’re not sure how your dog will respond around smaller animals, please do not seek out our home as a boarding option. We don’t have many restrictions for our pets in the home, they are allowed on the furniture, including the bed, but all are house trained, have no issues with tearing up items, or pottying inside the house, accidents are always understandable but we always have potty breaks 1-2x an hour, while we are home, and rarely leave for more than 4 hours at a time. Due to covid, I work from home Tuesday-Thursday, and have to go into the office on Mondays for about 4 hours. So I am home more often than not. I am willing to do some dog walking or check ins within your home depending on distance and times. I am a huge animal lover, and anyone who knows me will tell you the same.
