Meet our family: Myself with over a decade of rescue work, my pet-loving husband (who is rarely home), and our pet-savvy 7yr old daughter are here to help! Our canine companions include Taquito, an 11-year-old blind chihuahua, Jelly, a 6-year-old social boxer mix, and Rayne, an 8-month-old dane/golden mix. I specialize in catering to various breeds, needs, and age groups, including special needs animals. Anxiety management is a specialty, backed by veterinary rescue experience, patience, knowledge, and a commitment to treating every animal as part of our family 💚. I really appreciated Azu taking care of my pups. I loved the personal attention she provided to them. I loved getting pictures from her showing me how the pups were doing. My pups will be back for dog care when I have to be out of town.
After I adopted by Maltipoo from the shelter i realized he has separation anxiety. I looked for several options to take him to daycare when my mother was not available to care for him and/or to socialize him more. Azucena has been one of the few places i feel comfortable leaving my pup with. She communicates through out the day and has great feedback of how his behavior was. I get a little anxious because my boy can be dog reactive so i like to hear ever so often that he is doing well. Will definitely be returning. I only recommend you make appointments ahead of time shes in high demand, thats how much people trust her with their four legged children. Thank you!
We use Azucena as our secondary sitter since we have had our regular sitter (who lives closer to us) cancel on us a few times, and Azu is always ready to help us out! We would honestly have Azu be our main sitter if we lived closer. She is amazing, pays attention to detail and follows our dog's restrictions to assure a smooth return home. I would recommend Azucena at Critters to anyone that is looking for professionalism and a very knowledgeable and caring human being who will treat your dog like family!

Lodging: At our home, your pets experience the best of both worlds. The fully fenced front yard with a majestic California Pepper Tree, provides a cool, shaded space for play and potty breaks. Meanwhile, the securely enclosed backyard, primarily paved for allergy-sensitive pups, features an above-ground pool and doggy pools for refreshing play on warmer days. Rest easy knowing that dogs are never left unsupervised during outdoor time in either yard. Indoors, our puppy-proofed home boasts numerous doggy beds and an abundance of toys and treats. All furry guests are welcome on furniture for cuddle time, unless instructed otherwise by their owners. Your pet's comfort and adherence to their normal routines are our top priorities!

Your furry friend's typical day at Critters: We kick off our days early, maximizing the fun during their stay! Meals are served separately to ensure each pet enjoys their dining experience, accommodating all diet types. With a focus on age-appropriate and breed-specific activities, we prioritize mental stimulation and enrichment that are all-inclusive. Balancing activity with rest, we incorporate nap time into the day. I supply all necessary materials for these activities and adhere to the owner's structure for any diet restrictions. Scheduled supervised outdoor time every 2-3 hours includes potty breaks, play sessions, and sensory activities. Weather permitting, we extend socialization and training routines for an enriching experience.
