Although Avi recently took care of our dog and cat while we were gone for a week, he’s been our pet sitter for a while (which included a feisty gecko!) When we came home, both animals were so happy to see us but also sad to see Avi go. In the amount of time my husband and I witnessed him interacting with our beloved pets, he was very sweet and warm toward them. Even when our dog was initially barking protectively, Avi took his time, went slow, and gave positive reinforcement the whole time to gain trust. We love that we know we can count on Avi to keep their routines and keep them happy and cared for when we go away for any length of time!

Safety, trust & environment

I care for pets as if they were my own, and as I would want someone to take care of mine. I know it’s hard to leave them in the care of others when you have to. I text photos (usually cute and/or funny) with them to let pet parents know I’m talking good care (and we’re not having friends over for a party).

Information Avi C. would like to know about your pet

Do you have a harness(es) for your cat(s) and/or dog(s)? And a longer (non-retractable) leash? I recommend the former to make it much easier to maintain control and to help assist them from getting into trouble or support when they need it. Harnesses are less harmful than collars —which when pulled against by your dog or cat, they choke themselves restricting blood flow to their eyes and ears. When blood flow is cut off on a regular basis, it causes swelling that damages organs and appendages. Collars can damage the nerves in front legs too. Collars are for ID tags. Harnesses are for walks and runs.

A typical day

I like to do whatever your dog and/or cats are used to doing —disrupting his/her routine as little as possible. Walking, playing, etc., the same amounts of time and the same ways they are used to. I like to go for walks around the block or to nearby parks —depending on their needs/preferences.

I work remotely so I’m able to work from anywhere with a relatively stable annd fast internet connection. I’m able to take a few minutes here and there to stand up and step away to give potty breaks. I’m happy to sit on the couch and keep your animals company.
