Pet care experience
I got my first dog when I was 8, I’m now 19 I have 3 dogs, my first now being almost 12. My first pup led me down a pathway to truly having a genuine passion for keeping dogs safe and in the right hands, whilst being able to play an interact safely! I studied a level 3 animal management qualification in which I received Distinction, distinction, merit. This led me towards wanting to be a dog groomer, so I got hired in a groomers where I worked for over a year and experience the highs and lows of all breeds types, and temperaments! I decided I was more into the behavioural side of dogs and wanted to become a dog trainer, so I got a job at a local doggy daycare/training facility. This is where I learn so much of my knowledge about dogs, I have multiple IMDT qualifications, one of them being a puppy training qualification. I also assist in running puppy playgroup classes weekly, so I have a lot of knowledge about dogs from puppies to crazy teens, to tired and grumpy older pups (like my own) who sometimes just want some company! I have experience caring for small toy breeds such as Maltese and also caring and handling giant breeds such as st Bernard’s! I am also qualified in canine first aid! I truly will always put the dogs safety and welfare at the forefront of everything! In my care I will always provide your dog with the safest, trusting and nurturing environment, adapting myself to every dogs specific needs and wants!
Reviews
From the moment I met Ava, it was clear that had a genuine love and passion for animals, She was faced with the task of looking after my boisterous patterchon, which is no easy feat. Ava went above and beyond to ensure that he received the care and attention he deserves, ensuring to take him out twice during the day upon request and a lot of tug of war in between he always sleeps well after a day with Ava. It's evident whilst my dog is under the watch of her, she treats him like her own, and I simply couldn't ask of anymore. I found she had great professionalism, reliability, knowledge and communication making sure to keep in contact throughout the day and sent a few photos! I wholeheartedly recommend Ava if you need a professional who will treat your dog with care and competence, and our dog always looks forward to her next visit!
Ava has worked at the day care of which I am owner and managing director for a year and a half. She is an absolute joy to have as part of our 5 star rated team. She has shown great aptitude for working with the dogs, and clearly loves them all. She has developed her skills during the time with us, through continued professional development. Ava is reliable, punctual and totally trustworthy. We are leaders in our field, through puppy development, training, daycare, and behavioural support, and Ava is a key part of an holistic team approach to what we offer. She has undertaken specific training in the development characteristics, behaviour and traits of young puppies, and supports the weekly playgroups that we run, giving support and guidance to owners, and engaging with all the puppies, guiding play and responding to their needs. She has undertaken her canine first aid certification, and is a knowledgeable, vigilant and competent first aider and care giver. She has excellent breed knowledge, and insight into different breed behaviours. I can not recommend her highly enough.

Pet care varies so much from dog to dog depends on its behavioural and welfare needs. If I was with a puppy I would ensure they had plenty of mental enrichment and play time, but also ensure they have designated wind down time so prevent them becoming over tired! And of course I have a soft spot for all the elderly dogs similar to my own pups, I find a lot of elderly dogs truly just want your company and affection. I would always provide the owner with plenty of pictures and videos or any updates they wanted whilst there pet was in my care as I understand how daunting it is leaving a pet with someone new! I would honestly treat your pet and care for it as if it was my own, I would adapt to anything your dog needed such as mobility assistance, or if your dog prefers it’s own space and just needs someone to supervise them, taht is also no problem! Anytime I care for someone’s pet I will always adapt and change my methods of interacting and caring for them as every dog is different, but I always love them all the same!
Information Ava G. would like to know about your pet
If your dog has any special needs or preferences that’s no problem, I’m always happy to adapt to whatever the dogs needs may be, as long as a customer makes me aware before hand just so I know what to expect, what to bring etc! I always want to provide your pet with the highest standard of care so ensuring any special requirements are notified in advance helps make this possible!
A typical day
A typical day whilst caring for someone’s else’s pet would be filled with both mental and physical stimulation such as licky mats/kongs, long walks, sniff-focused walks, I’d also do some training to provide mental enrichment but also to build more trust and more of a bond between me and your dog! It will also include lots of cuddles and snuggling if that’s what your pet enjoys, as well as calm time such as chewing a toy, or just having a nap or a sleep as dogs need so much rest to prevent them becoming overtired and showing unwanted behaviours! I would happily take your dog to the beach/wooded areas if that is the type of thing your dog enjoys or also just walks around your local area or parks!

Availability
I currently work part time in a doggy day care/training centre so my hours are very flexible and I’m usually able to work around a customers schedule most days of the week! I can do early morning/later evening, as I understand it can be tricky finding someone to adapt around a busy work schedule
