Pet care experience
Hi! My name is Ava, and I've been a pet sitter in NYC for 3 years. I was the previous owner of 2 rescue cats and 2 rescue dogs, who now reside back in California with the rest of my family. I've also owned hamsters, fish, and guinea pigs in the past. I love animals of all kinds, and I have experience caring for many kinds of cats, dogs, rodents, and fish. Hope to be meeting you and your furry family members soon! Regards, -Ava I pet sit full time! I do have school in the Fall, but many of my classes are online due to Covid so my schedule is flexible. My apartment is very pet friendly. I have no children or other pets, and I do not smoke. However it is a studio so I accept boarding on a case by case basis.
Reviews
Ava always does a wonderful jobs with our kids. We feel very relieved knowing she is taking care of them
Ava was amazing with our two brother cats while we were away for 10 days!! She sent thorough and enjoyable daily reports and was a great communicator throughout. Highly recommend!!
Ava took amazing care of our rescue dog, Joey. She watched him over the holidays and truly treated him like part of her family, providing thorough updates along the way. I can’t recommend her enough. We will definitely be working with Ava again!
Ava is the best. Super professional and trustworthy. Highly recommend!

Information Ava F. would like to know about your pet
(New Clients Please Read): Pets I Will Not Take: I do not take dogs that bite (aggressive biting), puppies who play nibble/ are teething are fine. I do not take non-house trained pets for boarding, but I will house sit them Pets I Will Take Under Certain Conditions: I will take dogs with separation anxiety. However, if their separation anxiety is so great that they cannot be left alone for any period of time (without barking, whining loudly, becoming destructive etc.) there is an extra $40 per day (or night) charge. This is due to the fact that while watching them, I am limited in my ability to leave the house to run errands or book visits to care for other pets. I will take dogs with special care or medical needs. Senior pets are very welcome here! Just please be aware that depending on their special care needs there is an extra charge, so just let me know before you book so I can include it in the pricing. Pick Up and Drop Off, and Extended Hours of Care: My Doggy Daycare rate applies to visits of up to 5 hours. I charge $15 an hour (NY minimum wage) so it is $15 an hour for each additional hour after 5 hours. (This applies to doggy daycare that takes place in my home or yours.) My Dog Boarding Rate generally applies to stays that consider each night as 24 hours. Cancellations: Generally I prefer to have advanced notice for cancellations. However, I try to be flexible as I know plans change, but please be aware that multiple cancellations in a row, especially for longer visits can result in being terminated as a client. This is enforced at my discretion, and again, I do try to be accomodating. This policy is typically enforced if a client is booking and cancelling my services more often than they are actually keeping their bookings. (This is rare, and only enforced if I feel there is an excessive pattern of cancellations).
A typical day
I can do anything from feeding, to playtime, to walks and I'm open to caring for pets with special regiments or needs. I'm happy to follow whatever schedule or special instructions you provide.
