Pet care experience
I have always grown up with pets in my family and adopted my first cat when I was 21. After graduating from college, my first job out of school was a full-time Adoptions Counselor at my local animal shelter. At the shelter, I learned about dog and cat behavior, cleaned up animals and spent a lot of time giving snuggles! While working at the shelter, I adopted two more furry babies, a cat and a medium sized dog. I have house sat for family friends over the years, watching dogs and cats.

In our home, all of our animals get along well. We do have a dog free room for the cats so they can be separated if necessary. However, we do request that dogs entering our home are okay with cats. We have a fenced in back yard, the fence is lower so no escape artists should be staying with us! We live on a highway and cannot take dogs on walk leaving our house. For walks or playtime, we drive to a few paths near our house or go to the dog park.

I would love to know any behavioral quirks your dog has to be prepared for certain situations. For example, my dog Molly is leash reactive (we are working on it!) and it is important to know that before heading out on a walk so we are prepared to work on her training when we see another dog across the way.
A typical day
We like to talk walks around the neighborhood or on a path, maybe even a hike! I like to make sure that on walks dogs have plenty of time to smell as it is very stimulating for their brains! To get out some energy and have fun, we might even do some training in the home. What we do really depends on what is best for the dog.

Availability
I am currently working full-time in office so I can care for animals in the evening, overnight and on the weekends. My partner is home working remotely during the day and can give attention as needed as well as potty breaks!
