Pet care experience
I've taken care of animals since I was in middle school with two of my own dogs. Both dogs I eventually taught certain skills such as shaking, sitting, laying down, and staying. Friends often come to me when they need pet sitting for an extended period, and I even worked as an animal care attendant at a dog boarding and daycare place over the previous summer - where the average number of dogs at one time was 20-40.

Austin did a fabulous job taking care of our dog and cat while we were on vacation for 10 days! He was very committed to doing a great job, he came over twice to get to know our pets before we left. He asked great questions, followed our instructions to a tee. He took our dog for walks, runs and car rides. He sent lots of pictures of both the cat and the dog, which we appreciated very much. He was totally willing to stay overnights at our house which was much needed for our young dog! We would definitely have him do it again!
Austin really seemed to love all 3 of my kids. My dog Nick seemed to really like him and how he always played with him and took him for walks . It was so nice to see the photos he sent while I was away. Its so hard to leave my kids but Austin seemed to really care for them.
Austin did a great job caring for our pets. We loved getting daily pictures and updates. He also was kind to be flexible in accommodating a last minute schedule adjustments. Thanks, Austin!

While I am unable to offer boarding at my home, I stay in constant communication with owners throughout their leave concerning any issues or questions that I have. I meet with the owners beforehand, if necessary, to fully understand their wishes and desires during their leave, along with connecting with their pet and gaining a better understanding of their personality. I also inquire of any activities that the pet enjoys that I could engage in to ensure they are staying active and relaxed.

Let me know if your dog has any unique considerations concerning themselves or others. While I love all dogs and cats, Golden Retrievers and Australian Shepherds have a special place in my heart.
A typical day
I love to take dogs and cats on walks, especially along the surrounding bluffs. There are multiple ones I know of besides Grandad Bluff and Rim of the City - such as Seat of the Gods, which is shown in one of my profile photos. I also enjoy simply cruising along the country roads with the windows down to stimulate their senses. When it is warm enough, I can take them to Pettibone Beach and play fetch in the water or on the sand. Whenever we're home, I will play fetch, tug-of-war, or any other game they enjoy

Availability
I work part-time and study at University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, but I am limited each week to 12 hours of work and my classes are condensed from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and 7:45 AM to 11:00 AM and 2:15 PM to 3:40 PM on Tuesday on Thursday.
