Lots of experience, lots of love

Pet care experience

Highlight of experience: -15+ years of work with animals -Small, large, and exotic veterinary experience -B.S. in Animal Science I have worked with animals of about every species you can think of my whole life and love them all like they're mine. I have several pets of my own and have worked as a veterinary nurse in both small and large animal settings in addition to previous pet sitting jobs before Rover. I have a tortoiseshell cat named Zoe who is the boss of the house; a crested gecko named Xenomorph who is her trusted second in command; the fiercest group of hermit crabs you've ever seen named Matthew McClawnoughey, Frank Seanatra, and Jude Claw; a chill, lovable goofball of a paint horse named Scout; and a lot of fish. I also have a Bachelor's degree in animal science in addition to my experience, so you can feel confident your pet is in good hands no matter what their needs might be. Whether it's a senior dog with a long medical history and a dozen different meds or a kitten bouncing off the walls, I'm here for it. Currently, I am doing freelance work so I am very flexible with regard to my schedule. I'll have lots of time to give your pet all the attention they want and need! Though I cannot currently offer boarding services, I am more than happy to take care of your pets in your home. I think that ultimately helps them feel more comfortable while you're gone, anyway. I will be respectful of your space since I know it is sometimes an odd feeling having a stranger in your home while you're gone, and I will leave your home better than I found it.

Augusta is great! I’ve only been working with her for a couple weeks, but so far everything has been awesome. I love that she sends me pictures of my dog after their walk so I can see how happy he is.

We were so nervous to leave our pets home alone for the first time but we had a great experience with Augusta! I loved all of the pictures and videos of our cats. She even played with them and gave us descriptions of how they were behaving every day. Augusta clearly has a passion for animals and took great care of our babies. I wouldn’t hesitate to book her again :)

Augusta was amazing! The pets were very calm & happy when we returned which means she kept them happy while we were away. Everything was clean & waters and bird feeders (!) were filled! We will definitely be requesting Augusta again!! Thanks so very much!!!

Information Augusta H. would like to know about your pet

It's important for me to know any specific needs, behaviors, etc. beforehand so I can best prepare for my visit. I also like to know how your dog interacts with other animals so I know the best places to take them out for walks, how to respond ahead of time if we come across another dog, etc. I'm comfortable with any special needs or medical cases. I love all dogs, but German Shepherds are definitely my favorite breed.

A typical day

Lexington and surrounding areas have a ton of parks, dog parks, and awesome places to explore. I love the open fields and the dog park at Masterson Station Park and the paths at Shillito Park, but if there's a specific place you know your dog likes, I'm more than happy to take them there, too!
