Caring Bestie to your Doggo/Gatito
Pet care experience
I’ve cared for family pets for years, feeding, playing, walking, having them go potty, and sending them to bed. I’m gentle yet energetic. I strive to inspire pets to feel secure and understood under my care. I find this approach to jive great with anxious dogs. I can supervise potty and feeding time, play dates with friendly kitties/dogs, and use learned commands to keep furniture safe.
Reviews
August did a Fantastic job watching our two dogs and our house while we were away for about 10 days. Our dogs can be anxious and have some particular needs (including important medications) and August handled it all like a true professional. Not only that, but they communicated with us every day with lots of photos of our pups getting nice walks and lots of cuddles. It made me feel like not only were our dogs' physical needs being met, but that they were also receiving love and affection while we were away. I also have to mention that we returned to an absolutely spotless house, which is SUCH a relief to come home to after a trip! And, the cherry on top is that all of my plants are doing well, so they clearly watered them and cared for them while we were gone, which is so nice! August is a very thoughtful and caring dog and house sitter and I truly couldn't be happier with how this went. I'll definitely be reaching out to them again for our next trip! Thank you so much!
August was communicative and thorough, would definitely use again!
August looked after Toffee for a long full day. Received photo updates and got a good review of the day with Toffee.
Always goes above and beyond and leaves a full report on walk card. Thank you August!

Safety, trust & environment
I am really good at following instructions and communicating proactively. I have never had issues keeping pets under my care safe, which I have been able to do by always keeping them on a leash, keeping alert, using treats, and never leaving doors/windows opened or unattended. In addition, I never take dogs to dog parks, even big ones like Magnuson. Similarly, I keep away from any off leash dogs we may run into when out and about. I stay alert of my surroundings in order to anticipate potential dangers building up in the direction we move towards, or to immediately deescalate all-of-a-sudden situations - i.e. off leash dog running up on us while chasing after something else, fireworks, etc.. If a dog is above 70 pounds, I may require a collar or gentle leader to be used during the duration of my custody, not a harness. I am, however, happy to supervise play dates with established friends, specially if the other doggo(s) can come to your place (or if there is minimal to no need for vehicular transportation on my part).
Information August R. would like to know about your pet
Let me know verbal commands known by your dog(s)! Also does your dog have any particular boundaries/sensitivities that I need to be aware of? Is excitement a safe feeling indoors? This is particularly important if there are more than one pet in the house and for the furnitures’ sake. Some dogs with severe separation anxiety tend to struggle with this. Do they know any coping mechanisms to help them calm down(i.g. “Out! Toy!”)? Next, does your dog have a history of stealing food left in accesible areas to them? Besides the fridge, stove, and kitchen counters, are there any other surfaces they cannot access? Lastly, could your pet be considered to be in recovery for a medical procedure they had recently or are may be still getting over?
A typical day
I love to spend time outdoors: in the garden, walking, and occasionally jogging. My favorite thing is when pets have bonded with me and seek me out to play with their toys and to get some scratches.
