WFH Balanced-approach Dog Care
Pet care experience
Growing up, we had a wide array of pets, from fish to hamsters to cats to dogs. We had a retriever/pittie mix as a family dog, and now I have my own young german shepherd named Koda. I know what it's like for people to fear your dog and believe no dog is beyond help. Koda was reactive when I rescued her and have worked with a dog trainer for over a year when I lived in Boston. Slowly and surely, her reactivity is getting better through balanced training and dog psychology. I believe in structure and boundaries with pets and have been trained to used the slip lead, power loop, prong collar, e-collar.
Reviews
Audrey was very responsive and communicated very quickly regarding my request for service. She updated me often and provided pictures and video. She is very knowledgeable about handling dogs and made some useful suggestions. I would definitely use her again. She is a very pleasant professional young lady.
Audrey is a hardworking and committed person is devoted to dogs and has plenty of experience caring for not only her own but other people's as well. She is responsible to a fault and will treat any dog in her care as her first priority, making sure they are focused, get plenty of fresh air and exercise, and safe.
Audrey's love for dogs and dedication to proper training is apparent in the conduct of her dog, Koda. Since adopting Koda, Audrey has transformed her dog from untrained and skiddish to alert and interactive. Koda's command recall is very impressive. This is all because of Audrey's attentive care and intentional training of her dog.
Audrey's first pet was a pair of hamsters. When they had a million babies, she cried. Then came a salt water aquarium. When the cleaner shrimp got eaten by a big fish, she cried. Then a cat named Chess. When he was given away, Audrey cried. After that, a dog named Toffee. When he died of obesity related problems, Audrey wept. Now there's Koda. Koda is alive and well. Mostly because I'm not there to suggest that putting guy and girl hamsters together "because they're lonely" is a good idea, or to add a lionfish to the aquarium because "it's badass", or to cheer as a cat attacked everyone's feet at precisely 9pm every night, or to secretly stuff a dog full of treats and table scraps because then he'll like me more. I am not a good pet owner, and I taught Audrey exactly what NOT to do when raising pets. And now, Audrey is sensitive and kind and always puts her responsibilities to others above her own comfort and convenience. She is the best owner that any pet can have.

I believe that firm boundaries and structure help guide a dog and puts their mind at ease. My dog is crate-trained and is not allowed on furniture unless she has earned it (:

Information Audrey C. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your dog has special needs! Or, if you want to do a pack walk I can also do so with my dog or others (with your permission). I believe that pack walks are one of the most natural ways to walk dogs!
A typical day
I love training my dog. I love to tire her out mentally (which I believe is more important) and physically. I will let her run free if she has good recall, else I will give her a structured walk. I have a couple 6ft leashes, a 10 ft, and a 20 ft leash; the latter two are used for training for recall usually.

Availability
I work from home full time and train/exercise Koda 1.5-2 hours a day so am used to working with a dog that needs constant mental and physical stimulation.
