I like people, but I love pets
Pet care experience
Hello, my name is Aubrey. I would love to help you, your family and your pet(s). I live in Clearwater and I am a nurse! Mostly, I take care of people, but a pet is a passion for me. In terms of my experience, I have had dogs of my own my whole life, and have cared for several family members' and friends' pets over the years. Like many people, attending to animals gives me joy, and makes me feel like I am giving back to the community. I have cared for puppies all the way up to older pets that are blind, deaf or incontinent. Because I am a nurse, I have useful knowledge on how to maintain a safe and healthy environment. I think this is valuable and would allow you to trust me more. Of course, I am open to any questions you may have and look forward to meeting new people and their animals in Tampa Bay. Please keep me in mind! Thank you.
Reviews
Outstanding with minimal notice.
Aubrey is great with animals. She is kind, loving, and has a gentle demeanor that my dog loves. My dog was a rescue who has severe social anxiety with new people. I was shocked with how quickly he warmed up to her on their first meet and greet. Soon after he was jumping on her and kissing her face. She’s the only person I trust to watch and walk my little guy!
Aubrey is fantastic! Very trustworthy and caring towards our furry children. She cares for them as much as we do, which is exactly what we wanted in a caregiver. Thanks, Aubrey - you rock!

I take dogs out at least 3-4 times daily if they are potty trained. I don't believe dogs should be left without the bathroom and attention for more than 7.5-8 hours. When they are not potty trained, every two hour walks are important. When I have cared for cats, I like to give them attention frequently as well, even though they are sometimes more independent around the home. I think pets need activity just as much as we do. So, good walks and play time is a must while in my care. Finally, I believe it is important for pets to be careful and controlled around unknown pets/other animals, and that's our responsibility. I'm always vigilant about that when the situation presents itself.
Information Aubrey W. would like to know about your pet
I don't have breed preferences at all, but I would like to know the type of pet I'll be working with. I would love to know beforehand what things bother your pets or scare them, so I know how to handle these situations or avoid certain things when I am caring for them. Also, any type of emergency related incidents that have happened with your pet in the past would be beneficial for me to be aware, as well as where to access any medications/tools.
A typical day
When I used to live with our family dog, a lot of our play at home was spontaneous. Roo would make me laugh with a toy somehow, and all of a sudden he was in zoomies around the house. Dog parks and throwing a ball is always fun. On walks, I always make sure a pet stays away from the street and that I have a firm hold on the leash at all times. We do tricks before treats, and I always give lots of love!
