I love all dogs, but I have a soft spot for rescue, elder and special needs buddies. I adopted my first dog when I was still in college: Seymore, a senior dog that came from a large hoarding case in eastern Oregon. Seymore had never walked on a leash, been trained or socialized when I adopted him. Even the shelter said I might be getting in over my head, but I just knew he was my guy. With a little bit of time and patience, Seymore became the ultimate companion. He went with me to my nannying job every day and inspired the family I worked for to adopt their own dog. He later went with me to work at an art gallery and became a regular fixture in the Portland art scene. Seymore was my best friend and my soul mate, and we spent 10 amazing years together. Now I have three rescue dogs (and one rescue cat!)--two seniors who require daily medication and one youngster who survived distemper as a puppy on the streets of Mexico and as a result has some neurological issues (but she's extra cute!). I love to walk and hike and since two of my dogs are getting up in age, they can't always keep up with me! That's why I joined Rover--because I love dogs and I love walking dogs. I just don't get enough of it! I am comfortable with dogs of all sizes, ages and energy levels. My dogs are my best friends and my family, and I'm excited to become friends with your dog too!
