Ty!* I grew up around two chihuahas, a german shepard, and two friendly pomeranians at my aunt and uncle’s house. Playing, giving them treats, and making sure they stayed within neighborhood bounds were a regular for my brother and me. In addition, I’ve also formerly owned and took care of a Siberian dwarf hamster, a variety of fish, and small turtles. … I am a kind, patient, adaptable, and resourceful animal lover. I believe in using CPDT’s practice of LIMA (Least Intrusive, Minimal Aversive) methods and Positive Reinforcement. In addition to house sitting, I am currently studying virtually at the Grisha Stewart Academy to be a further certified and well-rounded Dog Trainer. It’d be an honor to care for your pets!

Athena is a very caring sitter, she will always take note of your little loved one's needs and will go the extra mile to secure medicine/essentials if needed while you are away. She always impresses with the lengths she will go to to find the most affordable and expedient route. I always feel at ease with her taking care of pets!
Athena watched my kitten Luke and did a fantastic job! She fed him on schedule, kept his litterbox clean, and played with him a lot and kept him very happy while I was travelling for a week!!! Definitely hire this very caring person!
Athena Chow has been a very reliable dog sitter for my mini-poodle mix dog, Bella. Athena is very gentle with Bella and takes her on lots of walks and does all that I have asked of her in taking good care of my dog. She has been very loving in her pet care. After she if gone from dog sitting for me, Bella continues to go into the bedroom where she slept looking for her. It is very sweet that Bella misses her so I know she has taken great care of her in my absence.

When I meet your pets at your house, I like to get an overview of your pet’s personality, likes/dislikes, current routine, preferences, any particular behaviors, and where their food/toys/& current potty supplies are. If medication is needed, I am happy to administer with pre-guided instructions.

I am happy to take dogs to nearby dog parks to lightly socialize (with people or other dogs, if suitable) and to play fetch. For cats, I like to be sure to know if they are predominantly indoors or outdoors, or if they have favorite sun bathing / play / or sleeping spots.
A typical day
I like to bring dogs out to nearby dog parks or around nature sites. If your dog tends to be on the reactive— please let me know, and I can be sure to keep interactions with other dogs minimal. I also bring extra toys and treats for both dogs and cats. Chewables, fetch toys, and CBD treats for dogs. Feather sticks/wands and any other catnip toys are brought to stimulate/soothe the cats.

Availability
I currently have a flexible schedule and can work both weekdays and weekends. I typically conduct a 2 part interview for us to get acquainted with one another, the pets, and with the house. Due to my current schedule of juggling time between the North Bay and South Bay— I do best with at least 1-2 weeks in advance notice to coordinate.
