Pet care experience
I have worked with animals since I was 15. I studied veterinary medicine growing up and then worked with wildlife in the recent years. I have worked with animals in a clinical setting as well as at home. I love animals and genuinely care about their health both physical and mental. I take precautions with them and follow what parents tell me, (since they know their pets best).

I have known Atenas for the last few years and one of the first characteristics I think about when I hear her name is her love for animals. I know she has volunteered and done some work with wildlife in the past because she has often shared her experiences with me. Because of this, I know she is definitely knowledgeable. I don’t have a dog but I do have a cat and while we were living together, she was the most caring roommate to him ever. I always knew I could rely on her if I was going out of town for a few days. I’d even say she would go above and beyond my expectations for just briefly watching a pet! Because of her knowledge and experience, as well as from what I’ve seen of her with my own fur baby, I would trust Atenas over and over again as a dog caregiver.
We loved Atenas! Right away made us feel comfortable leaving our dog with her, she interacted well Chase. She asked questions about his routine or any special activities we wanted her to do with him. While we were away, she sent us updates about his day along with pictures and videos of what they were up to.
Atenas is great. She was always on time and arrived earlier. She has great energy and is very professional and caring. My senior dog has arthritis which she was able to take extra care. She helped make sure her right medication was taken. Atenas was amazing with her and she was in good hands.

Currently, I cannot take pets in with me, but in the clients home I know pets are more familiar and confident. In this regard, we go at the pets pace of letting them get to know me. I would go about their daily routine, and build trust with them. For dogs; If clients have a yard we can play and even if not, we can go on walks or dog parks that are available. Go for a run, if they are an energetic ball of fur. For cats; We can play with bird teasers, laser pointers, cat nip, and take walks (if applicable). Clean out their litter boxes daily, feed them on schedule. Whether I am there for hours or just dropping by for a little while. Your pet will not be alone and they will not be without affection or care.

Things I should watch out for medically. Is your pet social with other pets or people? Are they rescue/seniors and have certain needs?
A typical day
I would love to run around the neighborhood with your pet, especially with high energy pets. Exploring either the parks or trails nearby or playing with lasers (cats) or teasers til your pet is satisfied.

Availability
I currently have a full time job that has a wonky schedule. I work one week and not the next. So I have lots of free days back to back. I want to be able to fill these days with something that I would enjoy doing.
