Pet care experience
I have been in animal care since 2014 - starting out at my local animal shelter and then quickly moving into vet medicine. I have been a kennel worker, a vet tech, and recently I've been pursuing my goals of furthering my professional grooming skills! I have a vast array of knowledge about animal husbandry, canine body language, along with balanced obedience and sport training. I am comfortable working with all breeds and ages from guardian breeds to primitives to companion pets and working dogs, whether they're puppies or seniors.

Last year we had a little a weekend vacation and Storie did a spectacular job taking care of my pug mix, Ollie. Our furbaby connected very well with her and you can tell she really has a passion for animals. She was extremely knowledgeable about dogs and dog behavior as our little boy is shy and she knew how to make him warm up to her almost instantly. My husband and I were quite impressed and had no doubt she was a good match for Ollie and we were not disappointed! Thanks you Storie!
I always avoid taking trips out of town because leaving my pets with a stranger is terrifying for a lot of reasons, but Astoria was willing to let me get to know her and her background taking care of animals sitting and in vet tech work, as a groomer, and as a trainer with her own service and sporting dogs. The first time she sat for me, I was gone for four days, and she did a great job! She fed and walked my dogs on schedule, played with them and made them feel loved in my absence. She sent daily updates with pictures and video, and let me know how they were doing while I was gone. She also took care of my three cats (One of which is elderly and needs two twice daily medications in the form of pills and injections). I've hired her to take care of my babies now every time Ive left town over the last couple years. Shes passionate, friendly, gregarious, very smart, reliable, and she clearly really knows what shes doing on a comprehensive level.
Storie is the most educated & experienced person I’ve ever met when it comes to anything & everything animal related! You can really tell that she knows what she’s doing & is passionate about it in the process. When I went out of town earlier this year she took care of my dogs & I knew that I could trust her to take care of them properly, which really eased my mind so that I was able to enjoy my trip even more. She has also helped me in the past when my dog has gotten injured as she also has experience on the veterinary medicine side of things. From training, to pet sitting, to medical care, & everything in between, Storie is your go-to gal for your furry friend!

My home is not set up quite yet for guests, however we have eight pups and counting who have access to a large fenced yard butting up to a horse pasture where they regularly get to interact with a few equine friends as well as a fenced chicken run to watch the birds whenever they'd like! We do crate train our kiddos and we successfully crate and rotate occasionally due to intact males and females, however all of our furry family members get along and spend much of their days wrestling, cuddling, and just generally being as spoiled as possible! I am fully comfortable working with young puppies on learning schedules, seniors taking medicine, shy or nervous dogs, overly excitable pups, and any other assorted lovable troublemakers!

My first questions will always be about your pet's health, energy level, special needs, and their personality! I am adaptable and flexible, so whether your pup is overly excitable or maybe needs a little bit of extra time to get to know me, I can definitely work with that. I have done research on multiple different training methods, so I'm happy to discuss appropriate training tools and their uses with pet owners to make sure that everyone involved is safe, happy, and satisfied!
A typical day
I am still learning the greater Ocala and Belleview areas, but I know quite a few nice walking trails I enjoy visiting with my own kiddos, and while the heat can be stifling down here, I still try my best to get out as often as I can to explore! I also have a whole list of brain games to play if the weather is bad in order to keep those bright minds occupied!

Availability
I currently work four days a week at a local grooming salon, and do spend occasional weekends at the competition fields with my sport dogs, however my schedule is fairly flexible including evenings and most of the weekend! I'm always more than happy to discuss any accommodations I can make for you!
