Pet care experience
I have experience working in an animal shelter! It was there that I learned about dog behavior, training, enrichment, healthcare/medical conditions, and welfare. I use positive reinforcement training and fear free handling. During my time at the shelter I had special training to work with reactive, energetic, and fearful dogs. I can also give medications and subcutaneous injections as needed. I have done pet sitting for various friends and family over weekends. I also lived with dogs for most of my life!

Aspyn is a loving and responsible pet caregiver, not only is she amazing with her own animals, she helps me out with mine. Aspyn takes care of my cats for me when I go out of town, she is making sure they are getting their basic needs met and also helping them get in their play time as well.
Aspyn is an excellent & fun pet sitter! She spent lots of time with my pets while I was out of town. (I have two cats, a dog, and a cockatiel.) She cared for all of them so well! She would play with them & give them lots of enrichment. Aspyn is very responsible, and reached out to me immediately with any questions she had. She is very responsive & quick to reply as well. Aspyn loves all furry or feathered friends & would be an excellent & caring pet sitter for your furry family member as well.

I like to take dogs on several 30+ minute walks a day, depending on the energy level of your pet. During walks, I prefer to use harnesses and give the dog opportunities to sniff out the environment. I can use a crate for your dog if they are left alone for long periods of time and the dog has been properly crate trained. I also like to use enrichment to keep pets preoccupied during the day. I want to accommodate to your needs and preferences to ensure you and your pets comfort!

Please let me know if dog is reactive to other animals so I know to give a lot of space on walks. I also need to know if your pet has any handling sensitivities (ex. cat doesn't like tail being touched, dog doesn't like harness being put on).
A typical day
I love to take dogs on long walks multiple times a day. I like to let them sniff around so they can be mentally stimulated. During walks, I try to avoid any contact with unfamiliar animals and people. Treat puzzles, Kongs, and other enrichment toys are my favorite thing to set up for cats and dogs. For cats that are more confident, I love playing with a feather toy or something they enjoy. If a cat is more shy though, I'll usually sit a comfortable distance away and try to build trust.

Availability
I work full time, but I am completely free on weekends and Tuesdays! I get off of work at 5 pm the rest of the week, so I can check in with your pets for an hour or two before bed. On my days off, I can spend the day with them.
