Pet care experience
I have grown up around animals and have frequently stepped in as a dog or cat sitter since the age of 11. My family has always had larger dogs, so I have extensive experience walking multiple dogs at a time and larger dogs, and have gained experience with puppies as I dog sat throughout my undergraduate years. Families and friends have trusted me with a wide variety of pets including feeding, walking, and otherwise caring for their dogs and cats of all ages. I would also like to note that as a student at UTMB, I have been background checked and passed! I am currently a graduate student at UTMB. I am in class from 8 am to 12 pm most days.

We trust Ashlie with our fur-baby Morris! For us that is everything. We trust he is well cared for, we trust that he gets his meds and that he is happy when he spends time with her. Ashlie always goes above & beyond for him. Highly recommended!
Ashlie is truly one of the best dog care takers we have ever hired to care for our 8 year old pug! She was very responsible and made sure he had his eye drops and medications on a timely basis. Morris loves Ashlie! Highly recommend!
Ashlie is such a gem of a person and dog sitter! She is a great communicator, and left the cutest pictures and descriptions of what the dogs got up to while she dropped in on them. She made us feel so comfy knowing the pups were well taken care of - Ashlie kept careful track to make sure they were eating, drinking, and resting inside enough in the summer heat. This was my first time using Rover and I hit the jackpot with Ashlie! She was so responsive, caring, attentive, and thoughtful! She stayed in our home with Jameson and cared for him like her own. She sent pictures constantly which made being away so much easier! We got a flat tire on our return trip and was more than happy to extend her stay to help us out! I’ll use Ashlie every time!

On walks I ensure that the dog has everything it needs prior to beginning the walk by communicating about their routine and route preferences with the owner. In addition, I carry water as it is Texas and it can get very warm. The animal’s care and safety is one of my top priorities as I provide services and I am happy to coordinate with owners to make this happen. For drop in services I am happy to provide food and water, supervised play time, short walks, etc and communicate with the owner to outline what specific needs their animals would prefer. I work with both cats and dogs and am happy to work with a combination of the two as well!

I do ask that any dog, toy, or food aggression is disclosed as I feel these are very important factors in their care. I would also love to know of any special accommodations your animal may need ahead of time so I can ensure that I am properly prepared to accommodate them! A note on any food aggression or other behavioral tics such as history of male aggression, etc, would also be very helpful for me to ensure that I do not bring anyone into the home that may bring stress to your animal. Any fun activities that they enjoy and/or exercise that they are capable of is also important as I am more than happy to take the dogs for a run if needed!
A typical day
I would love to take care of your pets in a fun and active manner! I love to run, which is a fun activity to do with any high energy dogs! Meeting whatever energy level your animal is at I am happy to provide engaging play or take them for a run if weather allows!

Availability
I’m currently a graduate student at UTMB completing fieldwork rotations from roughly 8am until 5pm depending on the rotation. I am happy to provide drop in and walk services after my shift and am comfortable providing services for small and large dogs alike.
