Pet care experience
I am 24 years old and have been a veterinary technician at Cottage Lake Veterinary Hospital in Woodinville, WA since 2013. I worked full time while receiving my Associate's degree from Bellevue College, then continued working seasonally after transferring to Washington State University for my junior and senior year. In May 2018 I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology with a Pre-Veterinary emphasis. I am currently on the waitlist for WSU’s veterinary school (and I have a good feeling about this coming year!) As a vet tech, I am comfortable with any medical needs your pet may have. I can administer oral and injectable medications and give subcutaneous fluids, if needed. I live in a pet-friendly townhome in Kenmore, minutes away from Bothell. It has it's own dog park and access to walking trails right outside my door. I have two pets of my own: Evie is a 5 month old English Cream Golden Retreiver and Charlie is a 10 month old Domestic Shorthair cat, both are extremely well socialized and love other pets! I would love to schedule a meet and greet with you to ensure that our dogs like each other before booking. My puppy is well-socialized but she's still a puppy, and I understand some dogs might not like puppy shenanigans.
A typical day
There is access to a walking trail directly in front of my townhome, as well as a private, resident-only dog park with plenty of friendly neighbor dogs to play with. As a vet tech, I typically bring my dog with me to work. She hangs out in a run next to my coworkers dog with a fluffy blanket and lots of toys. If that is something your dog would enjoy, then they would be welcome to join us at work. If your dog would prefer to stay at home, that is perfectly fine too!
