Pet care experience
For as long as I can remember, I've owned all sorts of dogs, cats, and exotic animals. Pets were always in my life, and still are! All of my jobs throughout high school and beyond have been animal related. Pet stores, animal hospitals, etc.. Currently, I'm employed as a kennel technician at an animal hospital. I already spend most days playing with and taking care of dogs and cats, both at home and at work, so I figured I might as well do the same with my free time! I especially love walking, and would love to have an excuse to walk dogs on a free weekend.

I value the happiness of the animal & the comfort of the owner above all. When Im taking care of a pet, I always make sure that they're well stimulated and content. Whether that's through playing, grooming, or just simply relaxing together- it all depends on the energy level of the dog or cat. I'm also very big on communication and cleanliness- your home will always be left exactly as it was found, and communication will be as frequent as humanly possible. I love sending photos and updates!

Working in a medical boarding facility, I am completely comfortable around dogs with special needs. I have frequently walked / cared for dogs in wheelchairs, senior dogs, etc. I have almost 2 years experience in administering medication as well. Please thoroughly communicate any special needs with me, and I will be sure to find a way to accommodate them! This is not a promise that I will take on every dog, though, as it is possible that some cases would be a little out of my range (such as administering insulin, as I have less experience in that area).
A typical day
I typically provide mental stimulation with toys like snuffle mats or kongs. I find that dogs absolutely love searching for treats, no matter how long it takes! It's fantastic exercise for their brain as well. I also love spending time outside, mostly in parks and wooded areas. Dogs are always so curious about the new sights and smells when we go to the metroparks! I always make sure to bring treats and water while on walks, especially on warmer days.

Availability
My entire schedule revolves around taking care of pets, essentially. From my morning routine until the end of my day, whether Im working or at home, Im taking care of pets. This has given me a wide experience with all different sorts of dogs and cats. Although my schedule reflects my lack of free time due to my day job, I would still love to walk or drop in on the weekends when I'm free! Communication is important to me even on the days I'm working, though understandably replies may be a bit slower on weekdays.
