We know how anxiety inducing it can be, to leave your beloved dogs with someone else while you go away - we have the same feeling when we travel! This is why we take extra care to give your pets time to adjust, and treat them with the same care and attention as our own. Our dogs are adored family members, and any dogs that come to stay with us will be loved on just the same. My husband and I both work from home, and aside from leaving the house a few times a day to run kids to and from school or after school activities, we are in and around the house all the time to snuggle, play with, walk, and give lots of attention to your dog(s) while you're away. We have dog beds throughout our house (but you are also welcome to bring your own beds/crates/etc) - and pets are allowed on all of the furniture. We have good sized backyard with a high/secure fence where the dogs love to run and play, and a huge doggie door which means your dog can go outside to potty or play - ANYTIME they want! (Don't worry if your dog hasn't seen one before, they usually get the hang of it within a few hours - and if not, we are always there to open the slider). We live right near a big park on the east-side of Petaluma that is our go to spot for taking walks and letting the dogs burn some energy. We have 3 children ages 9-15 who adore dogs, and know to be gentle with anxious pets that take some time to warm up. However, if your pet has aggressive tendencies or doesn't do well with kids or other dogs, they would not be a good fit for our household. Pets should be up to date on all shots (message me if you have an extenuating circumstance) and for the health of our own dogs as well as those who stay with us, we require all pets that stay here be on regular flea and heartworm preventative.
