My booking with Ashley was a pet owner and home owner’s nightmare. Ashley proved to be deceitful, neglectful of the dogs, and disrespectful of the privacy and security of my home. When I initially contacted Ashley she eagerly agreed that she could accommodate my 7 month old puppy’s walk schedule. I had contacted a number of other walkers who declined the sit because 4 walks a day were too much to handle but Ashley said it was no problem at all. We agreed she would do overnight sits with the puppy and his 12 year old sister for 10 days with 4 walks everyday while I was out of the country. I live in a small building with a noisy hallway in which all my neighbors hear comings and goings through the building. As early as perhaps the first night, the neighbors alerted me that she was not taking the dogs out for a bedtime walk but in fact leaving the building hours before walk-time and not returning. On the morning that I fired Ashley, I was alerted that she returned to my apartment at 5:30am with a group of friends and bottles of alcohol. I contacted her around 8:30am and asked whether she had people in my apartment. As the was unresponsive to text, I called repeatedly until she picked up. When asked whether she had brought people into my home she revealed that she works nights at a bar but said that friends “dropped her off” and had “long since left.” At the time of this conversation the group was still in my home and the dogs had missed their morning walk. I asked Ashley to leave and leave her key to my place with a neighbor. When the neighbor knocked on the apartment door to ask for the key, Ashley refused to open the door. After her departure, there were several wet spots left on the living room carpet. I have to assume the dogs were sick or forced to soil the rug because they were not walked on scheduled. I have no idea when or how frequently she took them out.

We (our cat Perry included) LOVE Ashley! She has house sat for us multiple times as well as done drop in visits when we’re away for long weekends. Our cat Perry is fairly needy but whenever we come home he’s happy and clearly has been well taken care of while we were away. When Ashley has house sat for us we always come home to a clean and tidy apartment too. So happy we found her.
