Pet care experience
After growing up with one to two dogs in the home at all times, I took on being a dog mom, and feel that life is always better with dogs! Although he has passed (after 15 years!) my dog gave me lots of experience with medical challenges and being very attentive to caring for even the most sensitive needs. My friends and family acknowledge that I take a lot of pride in showering dogs in loads of love and affection, taking nice long walks, and making sure they are happy, healthy, and well taken care of. If there are any particular schedules or details to attend to, I have complete open communication and will do everything to go above and beyond those expectations as I recognize just how precious your little fluff is as a valuable family member. I have dog beds in my living room, kitchen, office, and bedroom, a crate (very rarely used), and dog friendly furniture. My neighborhood is a great dog walking community with 2 parks within 2-3 blocks in either direction as well as close proximity to downtown. I work from home full time and take breaks throughout the day for walks and doggy play time. We do walks and breakfast before work, take a quick afternoon stroll, go for another walk after work and do dinner, and go out before bed. I keep a baby gate up when I’m working out or running errands to prevent dogs from going upstairs to prevent potential falls, there is always a large bowl of fresh water readily available in the kitchen, and walks I make sure leashes and harnesses are securely fastened. Experience includes working with dogs of all ages and special needs/medically difficult dogs. This includes: Diabetes; subcutaneous injection administration, management of hypoglycemia, pancreatitis, and I do not feed dogs people food or food that is not their own! Heart disease; medication administration, understanding of not pushing exercise the dog cannot handle. Epilepsy; medication administration, seizure management. Allergies; med management Anxiety; wide ranging from mild to severe. **Dog and Cat First Aid Certified with The American Red Cross** Please communicate your dog's baseline if they have been diagnosed with a condition, specificities should a seizure occur including triggers/signs, and bring comforts your dog needs including blankets, medications, thunder jacket, food, toys, treats, etc. I do ask that all dogs in my care are collared and tagged with name and phone number and have safe and reliable leash and harness set ups. Please steer away from retractable leashes - they are difficult to keep secure on walks and have been known to cause serious injury. Your dog’s safety is my top priority! I am unable to accommodate dogs with history of aggressive behavior or high energy dogs in an effort to protect the safety of my home, cat, and myself, as well as any other dog in my care.

Information Ashley N. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know your dog’s specific dietary habits and needs, treat schedules if they have one, and regular dog walk/elimination routines they have. As dogs may have specific health concerns, I do not feed dogs people food or anything that is not theirs. Typically, dogs I board are brought over with their food (please do not make modifications for their stay as this can cause serious digestive issues) and any favorite treats, toys, leash and harness, blankets, and beds to keep them comfortable.
A typical day
We do walks and breakfast before work, take a quick afternoon stroll, go for another walk after work and do dinner, and go out before bed on a typical day. I live by a park and river walk that we can explore, walk, and play in, and on not particularly nice weather days we can play with dog toys and snuggle up with movies, too.
