How they are with new people, will they be curious or cautious? Do they have any allergies? I like bringing treats on a first visit so I like to know if they have any allergies.

I believe that enrichment is important with dogs and cats. Having fun activities for them is key. Whether it be hiding treats in the house and having them find them or playing fetch in the yard. Typically if I am house sitting, the first theming I’d do is let them out to go potty. Let them sniff as much as they want, curiosity is important. Once they’ve done that it’s treat time! Positive reinforcement. I’d keep them entertained through the day by playing with them, taking them on walks around the neighborhood. I tend to stay away from dog parks as they can be quite dangerous especially with me being unfamiliar to them. The end of the day would a nice time to give them a brush down, maybe some scratches and rubs. Then get them settled for bed. Dimming the lights and turning down the noise.
