Pet care experience
My dog-walking experience stretches back as far as I can remember! What started as a love for my own pup blossomed into a lifetime of servitude from freelance walking and sitting to professional bathing and working at a dog rescue. I understand firsthand just how important our pets are to our emotional well-being, and I find it rewarding to be able to return the favor to them. I have experience with puppies, pregnant and nursing moms, and senior dogs as well as dogs with serious health conditions or specific abilities. I am a certified dog bather, passionate about de-shedding, and have experience clipping puppy, adult, and senior nails. Nail clipping services will completely depend on the temperament of your dog as I always want them to feel safe and comfortable! Some dogs will only tolerate getting a few nails clipped at a time and accommodations can be made by clipping their nails a few at a time over a few sessions. Plus, a little snack distraction never hurt! I will not clip anyone’s nails who would need a muzzle or would require a second person. However, I would be able to help you clip your dog’s nails if it is a two-person job!

Ashley was one of the best house/pet sitters we have had over many years. She was responsive, proactive, and easy to work with. She took great care of our two big rescue mutts, and genuinely seemed to love them and all their quirks. I appreciated that she left our home in perfect condition, and was a good sport about dealing with some unexpected issues that came up in the house during our trip. We look forward to working with her again in the future!
Ashley is by far the best dog Walker I have ever had. She is sweet, compassionate, punctual, considerate, and takes it seriously. My pet and I love her so much. She is incredible. She has moved out of state and this is the only reason she is no longer with us. I would have kept her forever if I could. She truly is a gift. If you are lucky to have her near you, she will show your pet the love they need and deserve. ♥️
This was my first time getting a sitter and a Ashley was amazing. Followed all the instructions I left out to take care of my cat and asked any questions to make sure he was comfortable. Every check in she would send multiple pictures to make sure I wasn’t left out. She was always on time and my cat loves her. 10/10 would call her again!!
Ashley has always been great with my dogs (two wheaten terriers 5 & 11 years old) and shows a great amount of compassion. She keeps them entertained but also watches closely for signs of injury, sickness, or change in behavior. I know she grew up with a wonderful older rescue dog named Bella and she's loved dogs ever since. I've also seen her develop friendships with neighbors' and fellow students' dogs and I don't personally know anyone who wouldn't trust her to take care of a pup! A true dog-lover at heart.

I believe in a Fear Free approach to animal handling, which prioritizes your pet’s feelings, minimizes stress, and allows your pet to feel confident and safe. Moreover, I will never introduce your dog to another dog unless you have already explicitly expressed permission. I do have experience handling reactive dogs so please don’t hesitate to let me know if your dog is more of a solo star! I am familiar with dog behaviorism and have worked with shy, fearful dogs in the past, so if your baby is shy, I have the patience and calm demeanor to earn their trust. If I ever have any questions or concerns, I will always contact you immediately. Our pets thrive on routine; therefore, while you're away, I’ll do my best to provide care that is most familiar to your pet, following all of the details you give me. When I’m house-sitting, I will leave your house the way I found it, or better if there was an unexpected accident upon arrival! With me, your pet will have a super fun and safe time! Please let me know what your pet's favorite treats are, if they have any allergies or special needs, and what upsets them most! Do they have any personality quirks that may seem odd but are completely normal to them? I'd also like to know of any triggers your pet may have so I can avoid any problems while you're away. I believe in fear-free training and your pet’s comfort is my first priority so that we can all have a stress-free experience.
A typical day
When your pet is with me, my time is their time. I want to do whatever your dog wants to do, whether it’s rolling in the grass, fetching balls, or playing tug! I’m also a huge fan of enrichment toys like kongs, lick mats, puzzles, sniff mats, or any other kind of sensory-stimulating toy. The right enrichment toy can have numerous benefits like challenging your pet’s senses, keeping their minds active, easing stress, and engaging parts of their bodies they might not otherwise. I will also give your dog unlimited pets and probably a massage, as recently, I’ve started giving pets shoulder and neck massages before even realizing it! I also have a tendency to pet double coated dogs in a way that de-sheds them but don’t worry I always clean up the extra fluff!

Currently, I work from home, so I am very flexible and have plenty of time to take care of your pet! I’m usually available on short notice and I also allow cancellations up to the same day because I understand how hectic life can get.
