Pet care experience
I was never allowed to have animals or pets at home. I found joy in going for walks and seeing wildlife around me while walking my neighbour's dog. I got a few chances to house-sit for long periods of time, and I knew I loved it. My chance to foster a dog was amazing, although, hard to give him up. I professionally dog/cat sat for the first time in 2013. Ah, I realized I loved cats, too! See my cat care section. So I would house-sit my friends' cats until I adopted my fluffy one in 2021. It's been an amazing ride. She brings me joy I've never felt before.
Reviews
Ashley quickly bonds with furbabies, big and small. Dependable, caring, and responsible. She understands each dog and each animal is different and has their own needs, and treats them as such. Mine gets so excited to see her!
If there's one fact I can say about Ashley after knowing her for several years is that she LOVES animals. So many people claim to be animal lovers but I doubt many of them are. Ashley doesn't just love animals, she respects them, understands them, cares about their well-being. On multiple occasions, while in the presence of Ashley, I've witnessed birds, frogs, squirrels, and other wild animals come up really close, closer than they normally do. I really do believe that Ashley has a type of welcoming energy that other animals detect and then are drawn in closer by. With domesticated animals, you can really see Ashley in action. She has so much love to give, she has a special reserve of love specifically dedicated to animals and it is a pleasure to witness that in-person. When it comes to taking care of a furry (or scaly) friend, whether temporary or permanent, Ashley understands the weight of responsibility that comes with it.

Safety, trust & environment
I care for animals as if they are my own, with my whole being. They are my baby for the time you are away. I follow their needs/routines as you outline them. I'm a consistent communicator, so I will always tell you how they are when they are with me. If they act out of character or have specific needs, I will always do my best to meet them and let you know cause I'll be observing their behavioural patterns from the get-go. I'm not a pushy person, either (with my human clients as well). I will let your baby feel me out, and if they don't feel comfortable right away, I'll always work to build that trust organically, not forcibly. I'm a cat lady, so I'm used to letting animals tell me what they need.
Information Ashley M. would like to know about your pet
Let me know if your baby has specific needs. I've dog-sat certain breeds that are fine with their parents and caregivers but will not allow strangers to pet them (Austrailian shepherds). I've cared for animals who have different abilities - whether they have a hearing impairment or are visually impaired, ensuring their safety is most important to me.
A typical day
I love playing with your animals. Whether it's fetch or their favourite wand toy, I know how important it is for them to be stimulated to manage their energy so they don't miss out on their daily energy levels. I see what understimulated animals can be like, and it doesn't have to be like that.

I work as a therapist/social worker, so I make my hours as I have a virtual private practice. I can fit pet care into my schedule to meet your daily/weekly routines based on your baby's needs and work around that.
