Compassionate and reliable care
Pet care experience
As a dog owner, I understand how difficult it is to find someone that you feel that you can trust to care for your animals the way you do. I strive to show the same quality of care, love, and patience with your pet that you give to them when you are together. I talk to them and give them the attention they are needing, and I understand that a friendly face can be exactly what is needed to break up a long, lonely day for your pet. Your pet's comfort is my priority, and is the most important aspect of the care that I give to them. Helping you give care to your pets is more than a hobby or supplemental income for me; it's my life's passion! Sharing my life with my own dog and wanting to give her the best, most fulfilling life possible has inspired me to help others be able to do this for their pets, too. I want to offer affordable, high-quality petcare to other pet owners in my community while building lasting relationships. That's you! If you are interested in what I have to offer, please continue reading for more in-depth details! __________________________________ Drop-in/30 Minute Walks: During drop-in visits, the very first thing I will do is take your dog outside to relieve himself/herself, and then I will check the area he/she stays in to make sure it remains clean. I am happy to do any necessary cleaning because I believe this increases your pet's comfort and mood. I will also do this either before or after any scheduled 30 minute walks. Daycare/Boarding Services: I am very excited to offer these services, so please know that you will be leaving your dog(s) with someone who is thoroughly enthusiastic about daycare and boarding and ready to provide a fun and stimulating experience for your dog(s) during their stay! Please continue reading for more information! *Please note that I have a one-year-old female Weimaraner puppy. She is spayed and current on all her shots, flea/heartworm medication; our home and yard is flea-free. She is wonderfully sweet and super-energetic; she absolutely loves other dogs, and she has always kept our doggy guests sufficiently entertained and exercised during playtime. I have never known her to be aggressive with dogs or people, however, I would ask that any new clients please set-up a time for our dogs to meet and become acquainted before scheduling a space in doggy daycare or overnight boarding; while her high-energy level can be fun for many dogs, I understand that not all dogs are comfortable with such excitable behavior. **With 24 hour notice,** I am able to board dogs overnight and be available to play with and care for them during the day at my apartment in Southside Birmingham. I live in a historic house that has been made into 4 apartments which has a fenced yard and is accessible from my back door. I work an evening shift at a nearby hospital, so I am available to play with and care for your dog(s) during the entire morning and for part of the afternoon. When I am scheduled to work, I leave at 2pm, return for a 30 minute potty and playtime at 7:30pm, then return for the night at 11:15pm. If your dog(s) require additional break times during this period, this can be arranged with enough notice. Arrangements will be made for daycare dogs' pick-up during afternoons when I will be working. My daily schedule varies, so depending on whether or not I am scheduled to work, your dog(s) may spend some unsupervised time either in a crate, or in my large hallway which is closed on off on both ends by pet gates. I also have a video monitoring system in which I can periodically check in on your dog(s) while I am away. I live very close to my place of work, so on my break during the middle of my shift, I will come spend 30 minutes playing with and letting your dog(s) spend some time outside. I also have a very dependable friend who is able to come drop in if needed to spend 30 minutes with your dog(s) and to let them outside. With enough notice, you can have an opportunity to meet with this person before making the decision to leave your dog(s) in our care; we welcome and encourage this. *If your dog(s) will be attending daycare and you plan to pick them up after I leave for my shift at 2pm, this same person will be available starting at 4:30pm for you to come pick-up your dog(s). *Boarders/Daycare clients please note: As I live in an apartment with 3 neighboring families, I am responsible for noise control within my own apartment. Some noise is to be expected, of course; however, if your dog has separation anxiety or is very vocal, please let me know beforehand so that I can notify my neighbors before confirming your dog's stay.

Ashley M. cared for my dogs for 10 days last month. Her rates were less than my usual boarding rates plus I know she gave them one on one care during their entire stay not just caged them all day. My youngest (9- months) came home with reinforced manners! I will let them stay with her for every business trip I make. Rover.com and Ashley M. are my best find in 2016! ?
Ashley was a delight! She was available on a last minute notice. Her dog, Reina, made friends with Snoopy within minutes. She sent multiple pics during the sitting. I highly recommend and will definitely use again! AAA+++ rating all the way!!!
Ashley is great with dogs! I've seen her easily take care of several dogs at a time. Her dog Reina is great with my dogs, who are much smaller. One of my senior dogs is very picky about who she likes and loved her stay with Ashley.
Ashley is so kind and loving and has a huge heart for animals. She takes great care of her own pets. She is definitely someone you can trust to care for your pets like they were her own.
