Dogs have been part of my whole life! I believe dogs are a great judge of character and I sincerely love each and every one. I care about their needs, safety, feelings and personalities, and would love an opportunity to extend that care to your doggo(s)! I've cared for dogs since I was young and have plenty of experience with big dogs and small, puppies to seniors. While I currently don't have pups of my own, I was previously a dog mom to two amazing Basset Hounds, each from puppy to the rainbow bridge. I had to say a heartbreaking goodbye to both within the last 3 years, one at age 12 (senior dogs have a special place in my heart) and one at age 8 (cancer is the absolute worst). My younger Basset developed glaucoma at age 5, leading to the surgical removal of both eyes. I was wraught with worry, but she taught me more about resiliency, instincts and trust in her mama. I'm definitely experienced with special needs dogs (post-op, diet, administering drops and medication, blindness, ear infections, skin/coat issues, diapers, draining tubes, you name it). I did Rover jobs in Sierra Vista for 6 months, and lived in Boise, ID doing dog-sitting. I also had several roommates there over the years, and we always cared for each other's respective doggos, a sort of co-parenting, if you will. I bonded with and provided for all of them--German Shepherd, Aussie, Border Collie, Schnauzer, Boxer....all good bois and girls! You'll see several of the dogs I lived with, cared for and watched in my picture gallery! Any person in my life will tell you that I am an empath who cares for animals like they are my own. I respect their temperaments and individual needs, as well as the relationship they have with their owners (but really, who owns who? 🤔).
