I treat your fur babies as if they were my own. Until your animal and I have gained trust and/or bonded, I typically steer clear of dog beaches and dog parks, even if owner requests dog park days, as my concern is the temperament and behaviors of the other animals and owners-not yours. However, I do have a full roster of animals, if ever you wanted a play date. The only dog park I recommend and frequent is Bluff Creek In Playa Vista. 24 hour security, regularly cleaned, safe, friendly people and pets. Below is a list of my nonnegotiables: - Check for fox tails and prickles during and after our walks. - Wipe Paws and bum after walking-entering home - Remove any choking hazards such as bones/bully sticks etc that have been chewed to a size of a potential choking hazard (5x5" or 3x3"). Cut long detached rope, threads, plastic, etc from toy OR toss toy all together if becomes unsafe. - Keep all human and/or pet food out of reach and locked away. Includes Medications, cleaning supplies, electronics, and any item that can pose a potential risk or known to be harmful to pets. - If/when I leave the home, any personal belongings, toys, choking hazards, etc will be placed out of reach or locked away. If requested, I will place your pet in his or her crate, room, or set up home however homeowner requests. - I do not allow dogs to eat immediately after walking and/or playing, I will allow for 15 to 45 mins for the animal to settle and cool down prior to ingesting a meal. I also wait 30 min to 60 mins to walk after the pet has finished their meal. Especially bulldogs. This eliminates the risk of stomach folding or bloating which can be deadly, especially in the summer heat. - I do not walk dogs on pavement/asphalt without paw protection in weather from 77-84 degrees. I will not walk a dog for longer than 60 minutes or engage in playful or strenuous activity in weather above 85-90 degrees. ESPECIALLY BULLDOGS or other breeds with breathing limitations. - I am very experienced with bulldog breeds and samoyed/winter dog breeds. In the warmer months during a walk/playtime/outdoor activities: take breaks in shade or on grass and rub their necks to help move any mucus along and clear nasal passage for them to breathe and keep cool. I allow to lick my cold water bottle, eat ice, or take a small sip of water. - I try to not allow any jumping on or off furniture. I will assist or use ramp. Especially for compact breeds, animals prone to hip issues, and elderly pets. - I do not allow animals to lick and/or eat anything from the ground. (I understand tasting the grass is a pets way to read other animals, but under my care I want to eliminate any situation that would cause illness) - I carry multiple dog car harnesses, seatbelts, and car seats for all sizes. In addition to Rover, I personally am covered and bonded with insurance. This also protects the client, home, and pet/s. IN-HOME OVERNIGHTS I am VERY clean. To keep your pet's nose and mine, free of allergens, I do my best to keep a dust free space. - Vacuum, sweep, dust daily- possibly windex if needed. - Pet waste pick up and disposal immediately and/or nightly - Clean out litter boxes daily and top off with fresh litter nightly clean - Scrub food and water bowls daily - Wipe paws and rear upon home entrance. Human shoes come off! - Replace pee pads with fresh ones after use or nightly. - Clean chew toys every other day - Create games and fun activities for engagement and stimulation!
